Wigan Athletic 3 St Mirren 1

Wigan Athletic rounded off their pre-season campaign with a comfortable win over Scottish Premier League side St Mirren at the DW Stadium. Jason Koumas opened the scoring with a superbly taken free kick but the lead was somewhat short lived thanks to a defensive blunder from the normally reliable Emmerson Boyce allowing Craig Dargo to level. However second half goals from Hugo Rodallega and captain Mario Melchiot saw off the visitors.

This seasons cup run 2013 was amazing but this year is panning out to be amazing. The 86/87 year was superb and who knows we may just beat Ray Mathias's fantastic run. The players will be buzzing for the next few league games too. Ten out of ten yesterday for guts effort and...

Today's crowd. I definitely thought there were more there than they give out. Good atmosphere yesterday and hoping we get another home draw tomorrow.

This seasons cup run I know 2013 will never ever be beaten. But this years cup run reminds me of our cup run back in the 86/87 season. Or is it just me? Will grigg could perhaps be the new bobby campbell on football focus interviews.

Will Grigg That's 14 goals now and there will be more. Not a bad effort from a player that many fans don't rate. Well that's the impression I get listening to some.
