Before they shut the doors, owing loads.
They'll go into administration probably bankrupting other good local businesses and not caring a jot when they set up again in a different name.

If they go in to administration its probably highly unlikely that they will shut the doors on them & they relaunch under a different name.
Going in to administration is more likely to mean that the debts they owe will all get renegotiated to 30-40p for every £1 owed which will undoutedly affect other businesses both locally & nationally and us as taxpayers as the HMRC won't get the £1.2mill they're owed either.
It means that rather than a prospective buyer having to find the £42mill to clear the debts (plus whatever Anderson is asking for the club), that figure will drop to nearer £20mill which makes them a much more attractive prospect to any interested buyers (I believe that Football Venture, one such interested buyer, were there at court today)

It stinks to be honest - they've not been run anything remotely approaching responsibly for a long time (they had debts of £140mill whilst still in the Premier League) & whilst I feel sorry for the supporters in one respect they should have been asking questions a long time ago but were content to lap up the glory. I feel more sorry for the employees who haven't been paid for months &, like you say, the businesses who will get nowhere near what they're owed

At least they may have to start on at least minus 24 points. If not it truly would be a scandal.

There should also be a points deduction for not fulfilling their fixtures.

Too right there should be. Thats a clodding out oft league offence on its own. A total disgrace what theyve got away with.

They haven't got away with it yet. The EFL has said the case will be put before their board to decide the punishment for that offence separately. Surely there has to be a minimum 15 point deduction for that offence alone.

It’s -12 for the administration alone. Not fulfilling a fixture is one of the worst offences the EFL have so they’ll get more for that

Postponing the original fixture because the players refused to play was an offence on its own and meant a misconduct charge and having to sit before a disciplinary commision.
The next offence was failure to supply safety requirements for the rearranged fixture and the EFL having to forcibly postpone the match for a second time, and ultimately not fulfill their fixtures.
These are two separate offences on top of any administration charges.
There are plenty more mismanagement chrges which could also add to their punishment.
Less than a 30 point deduction would be a travesty. A double relegation isn't a big enough punishment.

Its pointless the EFL slapping them with a big fine for obvious reasons so it has to be a massive points deduction on top of the 12 they will certainly receive anyway. I'm sure the Bolton fans would accept that rather than the club fold.

Those idiots think they are hard done to by the EFL. How on earth can the conceited Pillock's think that?

Perhaps something along the lines of what happened to Rangers up in Scotland should be used here. Relegation to lowest tier of the EFL and start again from there (if they can)?

What have the fans done wrong?

I'm sure whatever punishment the EFL throw at them will result in them being in a relegation scrap next season. They wont be returning for a while.

My gripe is the the chances they keep getting to sort it out. Yet another fortnight to find an administrator may seem reasonable but other clubs have been dealt with very harsh and very quickly. Bolton have been treated more than fair by the EFL.

The court case is nothing to do with the EFL.

I think the fans gripe with them is that they never stepped in to help when they could see what was happening in terms of Anderson running the club into the ground but I don't think the EFL have the power to do that (or more to the point want to do that) otherwise they would be getting involved in every clubs business.

What they do need to do though is actually complete proper checks when people try to buy clubs as opposed to the "show us the money" check that they do now which turns out to be utter pointless.

I've said many times that I don't want them to fold so for me they disappear into League 2 and 5 sides are promoted to League 1 instead of 4.

I don't think even the staunchest Latics fan wants them to go out of business but they must be dealt with as severe as other clubs recently Swindon and Luton to name 2. Good idea that egg lad to let them regroup in Div 2 and promote 5th place or even don't relegate the 4th place Div 1 team.

Interesting story on the bbc about food banks being set up for the staff who haven’t been paid and Preston making donations to it.
Pretty miserable for these people affected

Its totally unfair on the normal everyday folk who have worked in the offices, kiosks, bars, turnstiles etc.
Their last game at home they had 17300 on, with at least 5000 Villa fans.
Enough cash was generated that day from the Villa fans alone (£125K at least) to pay all the above mentioned staff a months wages, but I bet it went in someones back pocket instead.
