Reports today (from Alan Nixon) suggest we're looking to bid up to £1M to sign him permanently - do you think this is a good deal or not? I would reckon only half that figure with add-ons if we/he progresses, but I was never 100% confident with him in goal this year.

I know there were a couple of mistakes/errors from Jones when he was in, but overall, I felt our defence was far more solid with Jones behind them - he seemed to be a better communicator and wasn't glued to his goal line like I felt Walton often was!

Walton is probably the better shot-stopper though!

I think he would be a decent signing. He is another who now has 12 months experience at championship level. And with Brighton staying up, he's hardly going to get in their first team.

Apparently we are using some of the Wildshcut money due to Norwich promotion.

Totally agree with all of the above. He needs to work on managing his 6 yard box and be a lot more commanding from crosses.

Wildschut apparently is a free agent on June 30th but he hasn't done anything since leaving the Latics.

Anyone want him back

Nope.

Walton could be a top keeper if he commanded his area more.

He's an absolute nightmare on crosses not sure my heart can survive another season with him shrinking stuck to his line. 1m can be better spent elsewhere. Sure there will be some experienced prem keepers up for grabs

Went though a very poor spell but came back stronger. £1m would be a bargain....£2m-£3m is not crazy. Would need to be 4-5 year contract as keepers mature later. Wouldn’t want him hitting top form in year two and letting his contract run out.

And yeah, I’d take Wildschut. Would be a calculated gamble but he fits closer to our style of play than McManaman.

If he was as good at crosses and commanding his area as he is at shot stopping £1m wouldn't get him.
