Seems like he could be on his way to Sjoke, in my opinion it would be a mistake because they won't wrap him in cotton wool like we have and he would probably be another ex Latics mon who ends up disappearing off the radar.
Be sorry to see him go as on his day he's a match winner.
Also rumours that clubs are sniffing around Morsy :(

I do agree it would be a bad move for Powell as he won’t get the patience and care we gave him. I’m not worried about him leaving tho as many have said, he’s too injury prone.
I would be sad to see Morsy go but he’s under contract so we’d at least get a decent fee for him.

If I could chose between Powell and Morsy, it would be Powell any day.
Players like Morsy are 10 a penny at our level, Powell on the other hand is gifted and a potential match winner for every minute he is on the pitch.
We might not get 90 minutes week in week out, but he is the type of player we need and can be worth the entrance fee alone.

For me Morsy is our engine room and makes us tick, when we’re playing well. Powell is more talented and more of a goal threat, but his hamstring will never be right and we’ll be lucky to see him in half the games (if he stays).
Really I’d like them both to stay but I honestly don’t think we’ll miss Powell while he’s on Sjoke’s treatment table.

According to a Sheffield newspaper Powell,s wage demands have stopped Wednesday putting in for him. If they cannot pay him what he wants I don't see any chance we will keeping hold of him. Gone for me.

If clubs compare Powell's minutes played against time spent on the treatment table, coupled with his wage demands then maybe he'll price himself out of the market.

If Morsey goes as well as Powell maybe some of our good young uns can start to make the squad regularly.

Heard that we made a final offer of £20k per week yesterday and he's turned it down. He will go to Stoke and his career will go down the same path as Charlie Adams.

Opposite for me horc, Morsy would be a big miss. He does a lot of work in midfield that goes unnoticed.
Powell can go for me, tell me what match changing moments he did for us in his last ten games?
Young Sharpy fooked up big time not taking 10m from Brighton.
The word Judas springs to mind with Powell. He's took the piss out of a club who's looked after him like no other will..

Yep Sharp cocked up big time with Powell. When Brighton or whoever came in for him Sharp should have said " Either sign a 2 year deal with us or your off".
Instead he listened to the player when he said "I'm happy here". We're not City or Chelsea who can afford to let players contracts run out. For a club of our size that would have been a nice windfall which could be used this summer
Sharp ran the club with his heart not his head a bad bad combo in the world of football.
business comes first regardless if your a fan or not or you end up like an Eddie Davies.
But on the downside Powell was 2nd in the minutes per goal/assist in the Championship last season behind Maupay at Brentford.
Unless we can find someone to fill that gap Powell leaves the I'm sad to say next season will be similar to last season.
We should be building not re-building hence the reason we tend to yo yo and we end up with a new team every year.

Our player turn over is one of the highest in all 4 league's which can't be right. I still have my doubts with Cook. His style of football and his preferred type of player doesn't lend itself for the Championship, more like League One

Listened to the player? He didn't want to go. Players aren't goods that can be sold on eBay, you know. Brighton may have come with an offer but if Powell, still in contract, wanted to stay then he stays.

Utter rubbish, players are commodities who these days have too much power. Why didn't he sign an extension ?, Powell didn't play ball with Latics.
You see week in week out, players coming to the end of thier contracts signing extensions then been sold in the next window like a gentlemen's agreement. Basically Powell knew if the club demanded 8-10 million he wouldn't get much better wages than we'd offer hence no extension.

Sharp fooked up as simple as that. If Whelan had of been here his helicopter would have been on stand by whisking him down to Brighton, he'd have been sold.
Without Latics he would be on the scrap heap. How many clubs would do what we did looking after him. Fookin he'll, I lost count how many times we brought him off as soon as he went to ground. Fook me, he would hobble round the pitch as though he'd done his cruciate only to be bouncing around 2 days later.

If a club are going to pay him 30-40k a week in wages believe you me he won't get away with the bring me off melarky, It will be 90 mins twice a week.

Me personally think he's better off going. You can't build a side around a talented players like Powell if he's in out the side and never 100% fit.
If he were fit he'd have never been at Latics in the first place.
He's gone, move on ....next !?

Naive to thing Whelan did not have the final say in such decisions. He still owned the club.
You can’t make a player join another club if he’s under contract and doesn’t want to go anywhere.
Lastly, maybe the takeover was contingent to us getting promoted and keeping Powell was a gamble worth taking.

Stole a wage this season....bubble wrapped by Cook and co and and basically tossed it off..As cup winners states he won't get same treatment at Stoke being taken off after an hour then rested .They'll want their money's worth so he'd better use some of his new found wealth and hire himself an SAS conditioning coach to prep him fo FULL 90 minute games !
