and PNE were only getting 12k on the other week as a top 3 club with all their ‘history’ it isn’t a game changing difference in attendance terms

An extra 3-4000 every game at £24 a ticket (lowest adult price) equates to well over £2 million over the season.

League one is probably our level as a club. We can't compete in Championship financially which has been proved year in year out and our attendances are poor in comparison to the majority of clubs. Obviously Preston are a well drilled side with a better Manager but even they get around 25% higher attendances. Yesterday was poor. My understanding is Cook ain't going anywhere but sure Messrs Brownbill et al will continue their frustrations ranting and raving over the next few days before slowly piping down and accepting the situation until the next defeat.

So we just accept this garbage thats being served up?
He should be out the door tomorrow, but I can't see that happening, as apparently Darren Royle has said he won't be sacked under any circumstances.
The crowds are constantly on the dwindle, and you can't blame anybody. Its getting cold now as well and in all honesty, unleas we pick up good results in these aways at Stoke and Millwall, if Cook is still in charge for the Reading game, I will be voting with my feet and giving it a miss. I think a few more people will as well.
Our home form was keeping him in a job, but thats gone now. There is no excuse or reason NOT to sack him, apart from our chairman and board showing him blind faith. That yesterday, was the final straw.

Is it not at times like this, fans have to get behind their team?. There's an old saying its easy to support a successful team. We all support Wigan Athletic Football club, not a manager, chairman or players, they all come and go and we remain.
Whether we think Cook should go I think its an overwhelming yes, but there's not a cat in hells chance that I will turn my back on WAFC even if we get 3 successive relegations and end up back in none league football.
If its From matlocktomanu and back again, so beit, but I really hope we can turn it around Cook in charge or otherwise.
FromMatlocktoManU......How far have we fekin come!

No, it will just be my way of showing I think its gone beyond a joke, by not attending. Theyll include me in attendance anyway, as a season ticket holder. If this is what it takes to show the Royles, when the stands are empty...even more so than now. No, I am not stopping going, but giving it a miss unless the club acts, its in my own personal interest. Its becoming a chore to go to these games, sit there in freezing cold, no atmosphere, no real excitement or enjoyment at all...the place is like a morgue...lets be honest. And then I go home and an hour or so later I'm off out to work.

No. If he is still here at Reading game, I will be taking a game off. Not done that since Caldwell/Joyce. And I'm not sure if this is worse now. I think it actually might be.

Surely there cant be a Latics supporter who still backs Cook? Really?
And there you go!

You'll be there - you have form for repeatedly announcing you are quitting only to return very soon after.

No, I said I will give A GAME a miss.

For my own reasons. Read it again.

And yes, I actually will do if he is still here.

Best manager Latics have never had. Knows how to be successful in this league with or without money.

Clubs will be queuing up to take old Colin Wanker.

And with a record like that will probably demand a decent salary

And so it might be ...£2 million is something of an advantage but it’s only as much (or less) than we paid for each of three players bought this Summer.....

£2 million is a hell of a lot to me and thee no doubt..but in football terms ..at this level?.....I’m not saying it isn’t worth having but it doesn’t really put them in ‘a different league’ does it?

At this level it is nothing as you say but do we have it lying around plus the money it would take to sack Cook? We lost £7m two years ago and had to sell Will Grigg to try and cover it. I imagine we have lost money this year too.

A bit of a risk but could be worth getting in Michael Flynn with an experienced old head as his assistant.

If we were League One, I would say yes, good call.

But as a Championship club, I really think we need to be bold. I believe Warnock wants to retire at this seasons end, but even so, I'd be intrigued to see what he could do with us from now until May. Might be worth seeing if he fancies it. And then assessing whats what in May.

But a more experienced, Championship manager we could not find.

He might not fancy it, but unless we ask, we dont know.

Its going to be pretty revealing if we dont get anything from these next two aways and he is still not fired off.

I am really concerned about our club at the moment, in all honesty. We could do with a strong chairman who will grasp the bull by the horn, not keep sitting back and watching this shit show parade. Its horrible our club at the moment.

I don’t think it’s fair to say our club is horrible at the moment. Granted the first team is in a bad place, but, we have two junior teams that are doing very very well, scoring goals, and playing good stuff. Some but not all of these youngsters will make the first team (honestly they will) and when they do they will be our own.

We don’t know the future for Cook but we should remember there still is a lot of potential in the club if we look after it.

We also do a hell of a lot in the community for people of all ages and people who are less fortunate. Aside from our unique history, there are many reasons to be proud and optimistic about our amazing club.

Here here! There are loads of clubs who would give their right arm for a tiny bit of what we have achieved over the years.

I reluctantly respect the arguments for Cook going, but I am really really worried about who we might bring in.

Unless it’s horc!
