As per title.

Blackburn went down on goal difference with 51 in 16/17, other than that low 40's has been fine in recent seasons.

Last season Ipswich and Bolton were cast adrift and Rotherham collapsed at the end; this year no one is cast adrift yet.

From where we are now (writing ahead of today's 6 pointer  ) I'm not sure 50 points will be enough this year, so it's the old cliche of every point counts.

Can't disagree there Egg

We don't do easy though do we? Just like us to win away at the top side then lose at home to the bottom side

50 points will be enough. there is little to choose between the bottom 7 and as nobody is cast adrift, we’ll probably see all three teams relegated with more than 40 points. The times when a side goes down with >50 points are usually when there are a couple of whipping boys occupying the bottom two places.

In the EFL, 50 points is usually enough.

I said 50 a couple of weeks ago, and I'll stick with that. With Charlton/Hull/Middlesborough sliding...there's an outside chance that 47 could be enough; but, I wouldn't bet on that. I think we need 52 to be absolutely sure; but, 50 should be enough.

You'll stay up comfortably. Five of your last nine games are against sides in the relegation scrap, and two are against sides who wont have much to play for. Even with a blip, you will have hit 50 points by Easter Monday - and that's before you face Hull & Charlton.

Easy peasy!

On paper yes but we have dropped so many points against shite and two more today and play some truly awful football so it may not be quite as easy Mutts.
You know as a Sunderland fan nothing is easy.

Even if you drop the points against Huddersfield, Stoke, Charlton, Hull & Barnsley, you'll then turn Brentford & Fulham over - as you cant deny you have a very good record against the top 4.

Tha'll be safe lad.

The other two will depend on the outcome of the game of paper scissor stones

Still awaiting the EFL to give Horwich their 12 points back and enough bonus points to prevent their chums from being relegated.
Nothing would surprise me anymore with that relationship.

Another 12 points should be enough. Four wins from our remaining 9 games. Looking at the fixtures we should do it.

If they got those points back they will still be a long way from safety, 4 games from relegation for them, their in a race against Liverpool really

I hope it's all sorted by Charlton as some idiot of a friend who's also a Tics fan has booked his wedding on the last game of the season (SO I AIN'T HAPPY) so Charlton away on the train or plane for us is our last game and if were safe for that, well it'll be time to party.
