Living in Chorley unfortunately because Hoyle has got himself a cushy £140,000 plus expenses a year job, we don't get a vote. Bonus is Hoyle doesn't get to vote either.

Should build a Hadrians wall across north London to keep em in their own little alternative reality. How can we educate our children, grandchildren to exercise their fundamental right to vote when they've seen 1st hand how its become meaningless??? The remainers were quite happy to promote the referendum, never believing for a minute the country would turn up in numbers to vote leave. Didn't get the result so patronising gits then try to explain that those for leave didn't understand so let's go again. Vote done, result in so our weasley political parties now fail in the roll of discharging the will of the people. Wonder then why the youth of today are so sceptical of politics?????

Sadly, there is not a Montgomery Brewster option of "None of the Above". Either Boris the lying, cheating, adulterous Tory, or Jezza the agitating, protesting, friend of the minority cause will become PM on 13 Dec. Nigel the racist stepping back has made the chances of a Tory majority much higher. If you are a racist (or a fruitcake/loony according to Cameron) in a Tory marginal, you now have 3 options:

1. Vote Labour, who will offer a 2nd referendum
2. Vote Lib Dem, who will cancel Brexit
3. Vote Tory, who will leave the EU and continue to threaten a "no deal" by refusing to negotiate a FTA beyond 31 Dec 2020.

Personally, as much as I find Corbyn and momentum frightening, I will support the Labour party. A 2nd referendum is the least worst option. So why not allow the country to reconsider the single most important issue that will affect the lives of myself, my parents, my children and eventually my grandchildren. We are far more informed now as to what Brexit will look like.

And for those of you who have the mentality "we voted to leave and that's it", consider this:

We allow kids to re-sit their GCSEs if their grades aren't good enough.
We allow people to re-take their driving tests if they fail.

Should we prevent them from doing so and consign them to a lifetime of a dead-end job or using public transport because of one decision on one day in their lives?

I expect another hung parliament with the tories having a brief majority. Nothing will get done and we'll be having the same talks in 12 months.

If labour want to oust the tories they need to get rid of Corbyn. Although plenty of what gets said about him in the press isn't true but when they are all tory owned they can say what they want.

Sorry mutt but it's called democracy. Once a vote is made it must be final. You cant have people moaning coz it didn't go their way. The parties should have seen us leave without all the pissing about and done a deal with the EU that if a second referendum in a future government was called we could return at some stage. The majority voted to leave end of and so a second vote would be the death of all that is democratic about this country. For 3 years the only shite coming out of Stig o the dump,s mouth was to call a general election yet the second Johnson tried the scruffy cnut blocked it. If none of us had been lied to in the outset the vote may well have been different. Like I said I will never vote again after the way despicable politicians have behaved since the vote.

Wasn't it just an advisory vote and not a 'final' vote such as a general election?

The dangled carrot of a referendum by the toerags was part of their manifest to win the general election and I'm pretty sure they didn't expect it to go so spectacularly wrong but it did. Cant see how any vote can be advisory egg. You cant have an election without a definite result or what's the point of holding it.

It was an advisory referendum not an election.
Our constitution has no provision for a binding referendum.
"what's the point of holding it"?
It was basically an opinion poll. To see if there was a clear majority one way or the other, which would silence the critics from the losing side. Then it could really have been described as the Will of the People.
However it was a split vote - and my comments would apply whichever had won.
Large amounts of work should then have been done on why a large number of people were unhappy with the EU, and possibly take action to remedy that before just spitting the dummy.
I don't understand though why people in favour of Brexit fear a second referendum.
If Leave truly is the Will of the People, then Leave will win and that would be an end of it.
But if the vote alters then that surely shows that people have changed their minds (as Egg has said they are entitled to) and Leave is no longer the Will of the People. So that claim cannot continue to be made.
Is it a fear that leaving is no longer the majority will?

Oh - and here's the stuff about it being advisory

It was more than just an opinion poll GL. Cameron had promised to hold a referendum in an attempt to silence his own Tory MPs and the emerging UKIP who were arguing the case for leaving the EU.

Cameron never thought the vote would go against him but six years of austerity and antagonistic claims such as "we're all in this together" when it was affecting the poorest the most had angered many people and the referendum was the perfect vehicle for them to make a protest.

As you rightly point out a split vote was never going to solve anything, whichever way it went, which is why we have had this shit-storm for the last three years and will continue for many years to come.

We'd all better vote Conservative then seeing as we have a racist, sexist, homophobic, serial liar in charge. I can plainly see they have your best interests at heart.

Many people feel the same way as you which will make this election interesting but will not necessarily change anything.

The debate last night was a let down. If only Corbyn had replied to Johnson's repeated question "which side will you take on your proposed Brexit referendum". The best (IMHO) reply he could have given is "A Labour Government will not campaign either way as it is for the people to decide and we will implement their decision immediately afterwards"

Corbyn is being deliberately non-committal on the Brexit issue.

The people have already decided and he has blocked all efforts to implement it for the last three years.

Not true because he did vote to trigger Article 50. He and many others including ardent Brexiterrs voted against the May deal because it was worse than remaining and Johnson's deal was arguably no better than May's.
But the people voted to leave and they all knew what they were voting for and that wasn't to be worse off.
