BT Sport are appealing for any video footage that fans of Wigan Athletic may have taken of the day when we won the FA Cup.

Wigan Athletic fans celebrate FA Cup win at WembleyWigan Athletic’s FA Cup Sixth Round tie against Manchester City at the Etihad Stadium has been confirmed as a 4.00pm kick off on Sunday March 9th.

The game is being shown live by BT Sport and they are planning to put together a video of fans’ memories of that momentous Saturday evening last May when Ben Watson’s late goal ensured that the words Wigan and Athletic were inscribed on the famous trophy.

If you have any video footage from that day or weekend and want to share it then BT Sport would like to hear from you.

The following is an appeal from George Dugdale on behalf of the channel with details on how you can get in touch with him with any footage you may have.

Supporters of Wigan Athletic,

BT Sport need your help with a project that we are working on ahead of the FA Cup final this year. To mark a year since you famously won the competition, we are trying to create a film about the day using only fan-filmed footage. We’ve browsed YouTube and been given permission to use some really nice moments, but we need your help to source more.

If you filmed anything on the day of the final, we would love to see it. Whether it is a bit of your bus/train journey down to Wembley, singing in the pub, footage taken before, during or after the game, we’d like to see it. Even if you think it’s of no use to us, the chances are that it will be.

I think this project could be really nice, but it obviously relies on the footage provided to make it as good as possible. We had a great time working with Wigan Athletic supporters during your Europa League campaign earlier in the season and we hope we can make something really special here which you will all enjoy.

If you have anything which could be of use in this film, please email me on George.Dugdale(at)sunsetvine.com.

Thank you very much for your help,
George Dugdale
