As another transfer window comes to a close, what are the chances of Latics landing a couple of new signings???

The biggest possibility of a new signing could be that of Scott McDonald, an Australian International currently plying his trade with Celtic. After the collapse of Setanta, the Glasgow outfit are desperate to recoup losses and a deal could be struck for the front man.

The reports currently coming out of Scotland (the country not the player) are that we have a had a loan request knocked back for the player and we have been asked to come as close to the £5 million price tag as is possible.

As we know Mr. Whelan generally likes to keep things as cheep as possible, but as Martinez has had first hand knowledge of the player at Motherwell, he could very well pull off the deal.

Ferre Bode is still an ongoing target, but he will more than likely be a fall back plan if we can’t secure anyone else.

Victor Moses is mooted as choosing whether to go to Spurs and have very few starting opportunities, or give himself the best chance to star in the Premiership by coming to us.

Palace is resigned to the fact they are going to lose the player, but have left the decision firmly in the youth’s hands. Early signs are that Spurs are favourite, but both the player and agents are still talking to both clubs.

Sunderland are still trying to tempt Figuereoa over to the Stadium of Light whilst it is almost certain that Ben Watson will go to QPR on loan until January to get some much needed first team football.
