After what looks like a mini revival on the pitch for Latics we now enter a phase where we will  play 4 of the teams below us in the table within the next 8 games.

First up is Rotherham United this weekend, but have Bolton and Ipswich at home, with Reading away squeezed in between. The trip to the New York Stadium has been a happy hunting ground in the recent past, with Wigan recording two wins out of three.

Over all our record is quite outstanding against the Yorkshire club, having won 20 out of the 39 games we have played all in all. We are 15 from 28 in the League, having first played the Millers in 1983.

Rotherham are looking for only their second win in 15 games, whilst Latics are still waiting for that second away win of the season. See the full Head to Head in ouur very own Cockney Latic Archives by clicking here.

Just 6 points separate the two teams with 16 games to play, the Millers are a point above the drop zone whilst we are 7. Get that illusive win and we could put a healthy 10 points gap which I think would be the confidence boost the team needs to crack on.

The odds are pretty good for a Wigan win, with Bet Brain UK having us at 8/5 for their best odds. It looks like we will be welcoming back some injured players for this game, so we could get back to the sort of form we witnessed in the first few weeks of the season.

Paul Cook said as much at the fans forum on Wednesday, he is looking forward to having a full team to choose from for the first time since the last and only time we won away, at Stoke back in September.

Powell is back to training and not far away, whilst Massey and MacDonald are also looking good to break into the starting 11.

Details on how to get there and what to do around the ground can be found here.
