Roy Hodgson’s Fulham have already played 19 games this season, but the y won’t find any time to ease off at the DW Stadium as Roberto demands an outstanding performance from Latics.

Bobby has told the team to put the dire performance at Portsmouth well and truly behind them and to go out on Sunday to prove once again that we are a team to be reckoned with. Fulham on the other hand are already showing a bit of fatigue after a gruelling schedule in the Europa League, they ended their midweek game with nine men losing 2-1 to Roma.

This fixture has not been our best in the Premier League, not because of the results on the contrary that score is quite even with two wins each and four draws, it is the fact that there have been very few goals, just 9, and even less entertainment.

Wigan will want to draw from the fact that Fulham haven’t won here for nigh on 17 years and with the tired legs of the Cottagers we should be able to grind them down, even though we will yet again have to try to get past a 10 man wall defence which they seem to adopt up here.

Latics only injury is to Figueroa and that for me was the main reason for the bad performance last week. With edman also out after a bit of concussion, N’Zogbia filled in at the back which not only upset the feal at the back but also took a lot of grunt out of our midfield. Pompey’s long balls through the middle took advantage of that and bang it was 4-0.

With Edman hopefully back for this one, it will give us a more comfortable formation and one that will pass the hell out of the Southerners. Fulham were unbeaten in October but still only sit a place and a point higher in the league than us. If we had got six points out of Wolves, Hull and Pompey we would have been fourth – saying that if we hadn’t have got the Chelsea, Villa and City results we’d have been bottom, so Karma I guess.

Although on paper this looks like Fulham are going to walk all over us, I feel that we will again turn it on against a side that will be looking for a top half finish again and we will win. The bookies could take another hit of us this week and I’ll be having a sneaky 2-0 (might have Scotland 1st goal, he’s due one).
