From all at Cockney Latic, have a very Merry Christmas and a great New Year

It has been an interesting year that has seen the highs of beating Chelsea and the lows of getting hammered at Tottenham. The early part of the year saw us only pick up 14 points to the end of the season; the players seemed to be happy in the knowledge that we were already safe by Christmas and so didn’t really bother afterwards.

Summer saw Steve Bruce leave us and Latics favourite Roberto Martinez arrive in the manager’s hot seat. He has certainly had an eventful start to his Latics career, trying to instil a total football style at the club is getting very mixed feeling and very mixed results.

Only time will tell if he can achieve his and Dave Whelan’s goal of European football within three years, survival this season is the key, after that Bobby should have his own team in place and will be able to realise that dream then…. let’s keep the faith and give it a chance.

Merry Christmas and Happy New Year everybody.
