The tie very much forms part of Latics history as it is the furthest we actually ventured in the most famous domestic cup competition in the world and at the time Wigan were labelled as giant killers after disposing of First Division high flyers Norwich City, including a certain Steve Bruce in the line up, before breezing past Second Division Hull City to tee up a first ever meeting against Leeds United.
Latics put up a brave fight and on another day could possibly have got something from the game. However this certainly brings back some memories.
The footage also shows highlights of Leeds’ games against Queens Park Rangers in the Fifth Round and eventual winners Coventry City in the semi-final.
