I think Jasmi and Talal have been stupid nieve, led astray, mugged and screwed by a poor CEO putting all their faith in a so called expert in his field, “so called” been the operative word.
If they were going to suddenly bend us over they would have done well sooner probably months ago.
For me Jasmi along with Talal made some humongous and costly mistakes. Firstly, giving that idiot “Cheque book Charlie” Mr Brannigan the reigns who inturn proceeded to fill the club with 30+, average players on stupid wages in L1 while he earned reputedly £250k for making a pigs ear of it all and no doubt the odd agent envelope coming his way.
Then throw in the millions we lost in two full length managerial pay-offs, not just them a crew of backroom staff now that must have hurt us in the pocket.
I lost count how many players we had on £10k. Now Championship figures banded around last season said we had one of the lowest wages bills in the League.
I think that’s because some big clubs had £20k £30k £40k players but I bet there wasn’t many who has as many on £10k+ on their books.
For us paying out wages like that straight after adminstration was a recipe for disaster. Remember when Jasmi and Talal first came to the club they made it clear to us fans that they weren’t here to blindly throw money at the club and not one fan blinked an eye simply because we were all just glad to still be alive and they had saved us for dissapearing.
The problem then was they did the exact polar opposite they said they would do led by Mr Brannigan who ill advised them both on how to stabilise and move the club forward he’s way was spend like fcuk think later.
This huge overspend in L1 left Richardson no budget at all and the downhill snowball affect progressed throughout the Championship season at an alarming rate of knots gathering pace on its journey and debt till we club crashed by hitting rock bottom and into L1 we went.
Yes our owners are quite right now, yes they have missed paying wages but no one has never got paid, are they lying ? no doubt sometimes but as I pointed out before if they wanted out this club they could have easily gone months ago but they chose not to.
We have to hope they stay for now and hope they get it right at some point so we can put all this mess behind us.
I’m more fightened about what would happen if they left right now without a buyer in place than I am about starting next year 8 points down.
Again, I’m not siding with them I’m looking at both sides of were we would be and as it stands right were alive and kicking.
While that’s the case let’s hope we can get to July and judge them from then on when the vast majority of the 30+ age high earning footballers have left the pay roll,
Always remember,
better the devil you know,
