They opened one stand the West Stand then 2 turnstiles (4 traps) for everyone which was embarrassing. Who the f*cks idea was that?.
It was only when the queue went from Whelan’s Bar to the ticket office turnstiles they decided to open one more trap.
Floodlights were the same, parts of that first half looked like we were going to play in the dark. It was dark and they only fully turned them full on in the second half.
Were penny pinching on a grandular scale on and off the field and its showing big time. Staffing numbers are at an all time low and to be queuing for 15 minutes when there’s 1700 on is a joke.
And as for the football?, there’s a Maloney tactic been employed that’s not nice to watch and probably it’s even worse to play in.
basically its, keep the ball for as long as possible and if there is no 100% certain pass forward then keep possession do not give it away, either pass sideways or back but retain possession at all cost.
It’s a case of, if we have the ball you can’t score but as we found out last night opposing sides only need 1 chance or 1 mistake and they’ll punish you.
M.Smith? nearly everyone you speak to says the exact same thing, he needs to play higher up the pitch so for him not to do it he’s been instructed by the manager not to.
A number of times he tried to dink balls through from the edge of the box little daisy cutters and you could see what he was trying to do but sadly he spent the vast majority of the evening bringing the ball out 6″ in front of Sibbik and Aimson, an absolute waste.
This negative slow passing back sideways build up play tactic breeds fear within the players, the fear not to give it away which inturn means the players are scared to take chances say a forward pass they prefer to turn back and start all over again.
Our players constantly take the easy option out pass sideways and back making sure they retain possession at all cost even if it means not going forward the do all and end all of Maloneys footballing handbook.
Stones? honestly I feel for this lad, he’s trying far far too hard but no matter what he does he’s not a chance and breaking into the starting line up under Maloney who clearly doesn’t fancy him.
Bringing him off on 51 minutes was for me disrespectful on the lad in a p!ss arse trophy I mean, other than this Cup when will he get another chance and is Hugill any better ? sadly Hugills no better employed as hold up guys which for lads so young it’s comical.
Stones for me is a box player not a half way line target man, if used correctly I’m sure he’d get goals but under Maloney he has zero chance.
I’m sure any half decent manager would get a tune out this side, and the sooner Maloney’s gone the better. If we don’t?, I’m afraid the rot will set in and there’ll be no coming back from it,
But
Danson is penny pinching, he’ll not get rid. He’d sooner watch us struggle and possibly go down rather than pay him off. Cut off your nose to spite your face comes to mind.
Our players need more freedom, risk taker, rather than pass pass pass. Players need to run more with the ball like McManaman did which worked time after time but to no avail (no one in the box)
The club feels empty, the team look fed up and the fans have seen enough, sadly as much as I would love to see it happen for Maloney and it clicks but sadly it’s not and changes need to be made now or we will suffer this season
