The club seems to me to be asking for more and more from the fans in testing times while at the same time their making huge cutbacks across the board.
Granted, for a good few years the club’s been through the ringers run by clueless poor owners and there’s a price to pay but that wasn’t the fault of the fans who stood loyal raising over £800k.
The vast majority are still here but for how long ?. My fear is attracting the younger fans, the next generation.
If it’s not attractive we’ve 4 big clubs within 20 miles of our door all willing to take them.
I remember Whelan doing this, railroading the JJ club out the John Smiths Bar to make way for the blue chip and he stuck them on a double decker bus.
Then the supporters club was pushed over to the gym in Profiles drinking warm tins. Then when the Prem days had gone? he gave the bar to the supporters club when the blue chip had gone back upstairs.
My point to this, if you don’t do it right off the field you’ve not a cat in hells chance of getting it right on the field. Were not a big corporate high level were a bums on seats working class club.
Another gripe, Stockport tickets should have gone to the loyalist fans (that’s doesn’t include me) not those who can afford another £64.
If you want to give more by all means do but it shouldn’t give you priority over those who’ve made those long away day journeys so far. I know 1 older guy who’s not missed a game didn’t get a Stockport ticket because he’s not paid into the scheme but someone’s eventually helped him out giving him there’s,
The clubs not in touch it’s a run down business now been run on the cheap and it feels that way. We’ve no expectations just survive. I can’t think of many seasons were our hopes are to remain mid table but that’s how this feels.
One big issue is the manager with his lucky dip hocus pocus approach on team selection and how we play. I feel a more sold manager with a style and settled game plan would help.
