Maloney’s proved he doesn’t like Stones. While Hugill has been out (on/off) Stones has never been used.
Even when Taylor literally couldn’t run no more he brought on Sibbick in his place when the game was 0-0 or he left Taylor on for the full 90.
I don’t care what anyone tells me, that not tactical, that’s personal. As I’ve said before, as a manager if you’ve no intention of using Stones while on the bench just don’t pick him simple as.
Listen Stones is no Rooney we know that but he cannot improve without match time. Take Aasgaard Hughes Tickle S.Smith even Adeeko. They’ve massively improved through been played.
I’ve seen enough of Hugill and a little bit of Stones to say that Stones is the better player. And not that, he’s one of our players.
That’s another huge pet hate of mine. Bringing in bucket loads of young lads who get played gaining a huge amount of experience while the likes of Payne and Stones and probably others struggle to get in.
I must admit though I think we might have struck gold with the young lad Millar. He looked good all be it against weak opposition but I saw enough to think that might be our new left back when Chambers sadly goes back.
Finally, when I feel Maloney’s on the brink of changing his style of play simply because of the type of player he’s been given (not chosen I might add) he suddenly throws the team tactics into reverse and were back to belt n braces, keep hold of the ball 0 sh!t 0 football.
Do I want him to succeed? of course I do but I’m fed up of watching drab boring sh!t football especially when the obvious is there smack bang in front of you and your too pig headed and stubborn to change on because of your beliefs on how the game should be played.
He wants Pep football in L1 on a 2 pence budget, the truth is, it’s not going to happen so adapt and change to suit your players and stop thinking we’re City or Barca trying to draw teams out, they don’t come
