Can see his point concerning “downing tools”. I for one thought he played to a degree like his time was up but by his own admission that he is a confidence player .The non movement over his contract offer probably gave him the feeling the club didn’t want him therefore dip in confidence. Me…?….I think he was THE key attacking player ,managed and played in a role where he could show his undoubted ability there aren’t many, (if any) in this league who could keep him quiet. Massive loss when you look what we now have as attacking options…if you want to call it that. As stated it would be enlightening to know what pay/contract he was offered….IMO it would be similar to what he said ….league 2 money. The pay squeeze seems to have been introduced at a peanuts paying level..players as key as Humphreys should have been payed somewhere near their worth to the club. On the up side at least we have a league 2 pay structure now in place….because the on the pitch shite is doing everything to ensure thats where we’ll be next season……
