The rotation of players is killing us as well. In out in out shake it all about Shaun. These players can’t form partnerships on the pitch. Every week it’s change after change rotation after rotation.
I don’t know about the shackles they wanna throw away those back f*ckin pack monitors and iPads. As soon as a player’s reaches an X amount of metres, heart rate their off.
We have 2 players right now keeping us afloat, Aasgaard scoring crucial goals and Tickle keeping them out with vital saves. Both for me will be gone soon. I honestly think Aasgaard will be gone in the Jan window and Tickle in the summer.
This will give Maloney a chance to look at the clubs bank account so he can then go out and bring in a couple of 20 year old loanees who’ve never played league football before.
I understand Danson’s predicament trying to balance the books, this ongoing self sufficient challenge he has with the club but….and a huge but….I hope that when we do eventually sell Aasgaard and Tickle he reinvests some of the money back into the squad.
Surely he can see this is how football teams operate, at some point you sell your best players for decent money, pay off bills etc then use some of the money on the squad to replace those who’ve left?.
I remember Whelan doing a similar thing when Martinez came in, his first and formost job was to cull the huge wage bill of the squad Bruce had accumulated.
One thing Whelan did that Danson’s so far not done (Hughes Lang) is, once the squad was wiped out he made funds available for Martinez to bring in certain players/targets. Ok it wasn’t a warchest but money was there. Back then we had the same problem, players on unsustainable weekly wages.
The proof in the pudding nowdays is what happens to the money when Aasgaard and Tickle join Hughes by leaving the club?. Will this go into running the club ?, the stadium rent ?, subsidise the womens team ?.
I know one thing, if we don’t make part of the sale funds available for the manager and he’s asked to find a few 12 month loanees were in trouble.
For a club who’s always strove to achieve, punch above our wieght and fought back numerous times from adversary we now resemble a boxer at the end of the 11th refusing to go out for the last because of the beating he’s took. He just sees it as he’s nothing more than a journey man, making up the numbers and all ambition has gone.
One more thing,
We have history, Prem, FA Cup, Europe, Carling Cup. Those who were there remember it fondly but chaps, next year that will have been 12 years plus ago
We’ve a new generation of kids coming through. Currently there is nothing to make them wanna go and plenty of old guard have given up and if their parents ain’t taking them were does the next lot of fans come from ?
