My view with it all is,:-
When the Bahraini Binmen pulled the plug we were heading for administration. If this had of happened we’d have been sold with far less debt so I’m in no doubt someone would have took a chance which means owning and renegotiating rugby’s rent and Danson would have been a tenant at the mercy of new owners.
I’m sure the sheer thought of Danson “not” owning the stadium and paying rent would have p*ssed him off no end.
So in Danson steps, he pays more than he would if we were in admin 10p-20p in the pound but he faced no competition and the Bahraini Binmen are just glad to get rid.
Fast forward to today and we are no longer owners of the stadium. Then ask yourself this,
Why have we had very little investment even after the sale of a player? why do we still have a duel code CEO ?.
I personally reckon he’s got what he wanted,
The stadium
Danson’s stripped us to the bare bones with little investment even after the sale of players. Our wage bill has smashed to oblivion and we now prefer loanees.
Why?, I’ll have anyone a bet Danson sells us in the next 12-18 months. He’s not interested. He’ll sell us then we’ll subsidise the daily running of the stadium in rent. Remember he’ll still own the rugby and stadium so he could potentially make any new owners of Latics basically cover the yearly running cost while the rugby pay pennies, he can then charge the rugby anything he wants.
If he was interested in keeping us we’d have a CEO and Maloney would have the Hughes money to reinvest. For me he’s achieved his goal, by us get the ground.
If he’s our owner in 18 months I’ll show my arse at the top of Wigan, he clearly does not give a flying fook about Latics
