At what point numbers wise do they allow and don’t allow away fans into W10 ?. There’s no proper segregation in the seating area then they were happily walking around the concourse going for food when does it become unsafe ? Which clubs ? how many number wise ?.
The clubs dipped their big toe in and probably thought “Chicken dinner, winner winner, let’s do this again hey !”
I think they’ll look at last night as a success but it was Burton when all said and done on a cold and wet Tuesday night so what happens when there’s a few more say on a Saturday but not enough to warrant opening the North Stand to save money and they’ve had a few pre match sherbets and so have the Wigan fans.
The club cannot predict what will be a safe non safe game and opposing fans but not just that, based on the stewards, the away bar which was originally for home fans and the way the away fans were intermingling it’s a recipe for a disaster.
There is one turnstile that would be shared by home and away, one set of stairs leading into again shared by home & away, no segregation in the ground seating except for 2 stewards (if that’s what you want to call them ) and no segregation under the concourse before, after and half time, we must be the only club in all four divisions offering away fans non segregation.
Never in all my years have I seen anything as stupid as last night and whoever had this idea I would like this person’s name so I can write them an email just to let them know that when they do this again again (and they will to safe money) it will be on this persons head should anything happen.
If they want to save money segregate the North Stand shutting half of it down and close the Marquee bar underneath, if they wanna pint go in the ground like we have to do at alot of away games we go. Get some barriers in the North Stand concourse, jobs done.
I’d seriously would love to know how much the club actually saved because if it was profitable I can see structural changes to W10 to accommodate away fans.
This club has gone to the fookin dogs 7533 last night and it won’t be long before we go under 7000 and with bellend ideas like that and a performance taboot who can blame them
