Agree with MOST of that, as it happens.
I looked at our squad weeks ago and could see it hasnt got much depth to it. A couple of injuries and suspensions, and knew we would be stretched. But whos job is it to sort that out? The manager.
New owners…chairman…joe royle…jackson… what are they playing at? Action was needed to be taken about 4 weeks ago, and it wasnt.
Hes not even on borrowed time now. Hes flatlined. Same old excuses, same old bullshit. If he was a dog, he would’ve been put down. Shame on the powers that be for dragging it out. And that is why we have to look at who we are and where we are. With the transfer budget we had in August it was going to be very difficult to build a SQUAD good enough for this division. We probably have a decent 11 maybe 1 or 2 changes but to lose the players we have our squad will always be stretched.

David Graham and Brett Ormerod played small parts. Lee McCulloch chipped in with goals, as did Mahon, Bullard and Teale. Flynn got a couple too.

Ever since we failed to bounce back up in that first season after releagation from the Premier League, this club has just been treading water and slowly but surely, stagnating. We rode the crest of the cup win and the Europa league, but since we failed to bounce back up straight away, and from the moment James McArthur went, we have seen a continuous decline in the quality of player we have had.
How many of this current squad would’ve got near that squad that Jewell got us promoted with? I will tell you. None. That’s the truth.
