Well I thought Dave had already transfered the ownership of New Springfield to Wigan Athletic after all it did come from money raised for the sale of Springy and grants from the football trust. But Whelan is Wigan Athletic so God knows what is happening. I know since the end of last season our biggest saleable assets have been sold off so apart from the name there isn’t much else. Land at Charnock? Christopher Park? Who owns these as well?
Firstly I’ll believe it when I see it but if it is true and he does sell up then I’m pretty sure that both Latics and Eggs will be unaffected stadium wise. I think your spot on Donny and he did sign over ownership to Wigan Athletic with the Eggs having a 99 year agreement to use it as well. Does anyone seriously think that when he sells he will not make sure that both clubs are taken care of?. Any contract will ensure the long term future of both clubs at the DW.
