There are usually policemen/women stationed along the route to the canal bridge – there is always congestion at the foot of the steps. But on Saturday, there weren’t any police there.
There was shouting as I crossed over the bridge. I got away as quickly as I could. I heard the sound of sirens as I walked back to the station.
It was quite scarey as there were a lot of families and elderly people in that area at the time a few stewards turned up a little later but it had calmed down a lot then
