Although I agree with you in some ways there’s also an argument for both sides.
Southampton at home is classed by some as a must win because if we had lost the game they’d have been 6 points ahead of us with a better goal difference. In the end, a point is an okay result as we’ve taken 4 off them this season and we’re still just 3 points behind them. I would have classed the game as a must NOT lose rather than a must win.
In terms of losing the games against the teams around us your always looking up when we need to be looking down. For example, if we had lost to Southampton it would have meant we’d need to win 3 more games than them to finish above them so to speak.
