The IEC is group of investors led by a business man who is also a professional poker player.
Thier individual wealths has nothing to do with IEC it’s all about what IEC is worth and how much each investor is willing to cleb in so to speak. Been honest looking at what the company owns were certainly not in the Bill Gates category.
To draw a comparison it’s like a educated business guy and his wealthy m8s buying a racehorse bit of fun play toy. For the IEC its a way into the western market which thier portfolio clearly marks out thier future intensions.
The only difference is the IEC will always be guaranteed a return on thier investment which ever way it goes due to their purchase been real estate, a no brainer tbh.
I never once thought we’d be the next mini City far from it. What happened to Grigg was purely math and a business move to simply balance the books and nothing to with we might need Grigg to hit us a few and stay up.
And if we go down ?, More will go and more freebies who’ve been around the block a dozen times and more will arrive, the usual band of end er career type players who originally lived in the north west.
If we stay up I just wonder if Cooks has made a rod for his own back and the IEC will expect him to do it from here on in on a zero budget.
What the IEC have sadly done in my eyes by selling Grigg is they’ve made an overnight divide between fans and in some cases a hatred against them in the short time as new owners not because of the sale of Grigg but Vaughan as well at a time when they are most needed.
I’m not best pleased but that’s football for you. In a matter of weeks it will all come to light and we’ll see if what happened on deadline day was good or bad business.
