Off topic but in reply to Simmpool,I have to admit Cowie is absolute dog shite who brings nothing to our side whatsoever!

Ah, I see we have a new number one scapegoat.

Admittedly, he isn’t the most spectacular player and certainly not the answer to our problems, but “absolute dog shite” shows to me an absolute lack of understanding about football.

Bring back Roger Espinoza, eh?
Why Espinoza? You have lost me there mate! Cowie is awful and it don’t take no rocket scientist or like yourself a football expert to see that! You were singing his praises not so long back, saying he did a lot of work off the ball etc and now you say he is not the answer to our problems! By the way,I hardly think that 2 posters stating their opinions on him constitutes a scapegoat!
In your opinion, he is awful. In my opinion, you don’t know what you are talking about. He does do a lot of work off the ball and does an awfult lot of tidying up after people and he rarely wastes possession. Some of you should try to watch the game properly from time to time instead of constantly sniping at eveything you think you see. I brought up Espinoza because he is the kind of inconsistent, headless chicken-type footballer that the great unwashed seem to like to see.

I’m not relying on two posters, especially not the two in question on here. I do spend some time outside of this forum, believe it or not, and have had many a sensible yet heated conversation about the relative merits of Don Cowie and others. Rarely has the debate sunk to someone offering nothing more constructive than “he’s absolute dog shite”, however.

Now, Espinoza. If it’s absolute dog-shite you want…

Now where’s that broken record somebody thinks it’s funny to use on anyone with an opinion that sticks?

Espinoza has been gone a month and your still banging on about him being shite, yet everybody seems to want these trier types to get us out of this, doesn’t add up to me.

Be interesting to see where everybody’s opinion lies after all the gold has gone and the scrap is left, MAlky would have had his transfer window and we’ll be left with what we’re left with, loans and cheap buys, meanwhile all of the lads who’ve left will be at teams in top divisions or looking at promotion. Strange.

Most teams chuck a few quid at the situation to get out of it, we’ve gone the other way, most unusual, Whelan on his way out on his return from the sun imo

With respect, that’s a crock of shit in my opinion.

It was always going to be a case of getting loans in. We’re bottom of the Championship with a half empty stadium. Who of any quality would want to join us knowing there’s a good chance they’ll be in League One next season? Relegation threatened Premier League clubs might be able to attract permanent deals, but not us.

There’s more chance of getting a better standard of player on loan as they know that if we are relegated, they shake hands with Mackay, thank him for the experience and go back to their parent club.

And as for cheap buys…who, Billy McKay? Ross McCormack only cost Cardiff £120k in compensation and he didn’t do too badly for them,.

That’s the market we’re in. £4m strikers don’t want to permanently join a club who might be playing Crawley and Oldham next season.

In my opinion we’re going completely the right way about it in order to keep the club financially sound if the worst does happen.

Agree with most of this. The quicker everybody faces up to the reality the better.

Wolves, for instance, were still trying to get rid of players on Premier League wages when they were in League One. They got promotion but not with those players.

Our team of scouts and our youth coaches will be more important than they have been for a Long time.

Everyone is allowed to be wrong sometimes Griff, obviously you mean about the tad boring bit.

This clear out is one thing but to dress it up as being only about people who want to play for the club still being here insults my intelligence but looks like most have you have bought into it.

The reason we’re left with what we are is because nobody would pay us for them in chocolate money because they’re shit. The gold has gone the cellar is empty and the fat lady is singing her head off.

Chucking money at the situation has got us in this mess so bargain bucket hungry ,motivated and ambitious players will do for me all day long and given the appalling performances this season of some of our fading premier league ‘stars’ welcome to say the least.
we have absolutely nothing to lose now and maybe just maybe that will work in our favour if he brings in the right players who want to kick start their careers and fight what may be a lost cause but maybe it isn’t.
I have never felt so down as I have the last few days but the statement from Jackson last night in the paper was very honest and straight and some of us need to put the teddy back in the pram and cheer up and get behind the lads.
had to laugh at west brums website today and the excitement at signing Callum MC which shows how insular a league the premier league is.The fact is they think they have signed a ‘ nugget’ when we all know they most certainly haven’t .
In fact I haven’t got any strong feelings about any of the departures to be honest at least the club is being realistic and honest about this situation.

The ‘Good Old days’ are nearing and the ‘Goole away’ crew are creaming their pants! Already been mention of the likes of me fucking off despite me only missing a handful of home games over the past 12 seasons! They should bulldoze the South Stand and make a big mud hill, that will make em happy!

I wish I was the only clever enough to see what’s really going on at the club. Go you!

It will be interesting seeing him play for a motivating manager. For anyone to think CM can’t do it after watching him tear Premier League teams apart, I think you may be eating those words.

Everything has looked worse under the last couple of managers, everyone who has left will be a success elsewhere

they’re taking the piss saying we’re left with those who want to play for the club. Anyone belieiving that should be sectioned, those same people are still backing a manager with 1 win, no tactics and no clue.

We’ve sold our best players, were left with shite we couldn’t sell on cash in the attic bar 2 or 3

I don’t remember things being too bleak under Rosler this time last year and I certainly can’t think of too many games over the past few months that CM has excelled in or any of the others who have departed recently have either.
He needs to learn to pass the ball correctly, put a shift in for 90 minutes not 50 and he most certainly needs to look at his temperament if he is ever going to realise his potential.
a lot to learn however I have an awful feeling he will be a championship player again next season given the dreadful run in West BRUM have.

just saying I think you have a short memory, he was superb as recently as the beginning of this season. I’m his biggest critic in not lasting much over an hour but we’ll see how Pulis and his notorious training get him going. I’ve always thought since Martinez we didn’t look as fit as the other side.
Pulis will have them out of danger.

I’d sooner have him in the team than not

So Tez, would you prefer us to go down the QPR route? spend money we don’t have break the leagues FFP rules. As for the players who have departed has it occurred to you that those signed by Rosler may have spat the dummy coz he has gone and who may be showing Malky total petulance and disrespect for the club?. Is it not too much of a coincidence that most of Rosler,s summer signings have not lasted 2 minutes?. I’m behind the gaffer on this one If you don’t want to be a Wigan player then fook off quickly now. Macca, Maloney and Watson will obviously think they are above Div 1 so would have gone no matter we tried. Where we could learn a lesson maybe is not to have so many players out of contract at the same time. Why not give Malky the chance to sort this mess out which in reality is not his fault. We are in a healthy position off the field even if we are in dire straits off it but if you was around in the early Nineties when the buckets and blankets were going round then you will understand why Mr Whelan is rightly steering the good ship Latics in it’s present course. It has been said before on here that we don’t see what Malky does on the training ground and it may be the case that he feels these players need to leave the club in order for us to progress. Time will tell Tez and if he fails after the clearout I am sure the board will act accordingly.
