Question time folks
1. Why have we suddenly started playing more direct?
2. Why are we not passing side ways and back?
3. Why has it taken us over 20 games this season to play this more direct styleI take it Jay that in your recent meeting you asked Bob these questions
12 February 2011 at 9:54 pm #59235Because its shit or bust time
12 February 2011 at 10:06 pm #59236you are probably a really nice bloke – but you have missed the thread completely
12 February 2011 at 10:24 pm #59237I think they are just getting better as a team and more comfortable on the ball. Also, there is a bit more mobility ahead of the back four which gives us more opportunity to move the ball forward quicker yet still retain possession. :angry-soapbox:
On top of that, there seems to have been a conscious decision not to tart about with the ball between the keeper and back four which has helped.
That and the three new signings, Cleverley, Di Santo and McCarthy, of course :D
Might be a bit quicker, urgent and more direct but it’s hardly Allardyce stuff, really.

Could also be that apart from Hugo all our attacking players have been either injured or suspended for a spell
:angry-banghead: :angry-banghead:12 February 2011 at 10:34 pm #59240No, to be fair 33, we were pretty poor until around about the Villa game, in my view and if my timings are correct, to play with a bit more urgency and mobility.
It did coincide with getting some players back but I just think we are slowly, gradually becoming a better team, regardless.
Whether we have left ourselves enough time to escape, I don’t know.

Perhaps he’s been reading this board.

He’s been reading Vat’s predictions
BOLTON A- Lose
FULHAM H- Draw We could really do with 3 points
ARSENAL A- Lose
VILLA H- Draw
ALBION A- Lose Can see them beating us.
BLACKBURN H- Draw Again, 3 point would be good here
LIVERPOOL A- Lose. Good chance possibly, but………13 February 2011 at 12:10 am #59249As was said when he came, he was going to bring in a more passing orientated game at Wigan. It would take two seasons of survival to get it to click and from then on we would be looking for top ten finishes.
It is like most things I suppose, you can’t just throw a gang of lads together and say, play like this. Roberto has gradually got the team playing like he wants, we are still not there, but he has followed a process – a big risk yes, but he’s had the balls to do it, even with all the knockers. :character-megaman:
If the last three games are the basis of his plan, I hope we are around to see what the next level is. :handgestures-fingerscrossed:
FA Cup Winners 2013, sounds good that
