23 year old forward Mitchell te Vrede is being linked with a move to the Latics after expressing his desire to leave Feyenoord.
Reports eminating from Holland suggest the Latics want to sign te Vrede on loan until the end of the season with a view to a permenant move.
During his time with the Dutch club te Vrede has made eighteen apperances scoring seven times.15 January 2015 at 4:28 pm #138326Te Vrede has been with Feyenoord since 2012, but has only made 18 league appearances in which he has scored eight goals, while also adding three in Europe this season.
With a goalscoring record like that why would we want him?
15 January 2015 at 4:37 pm #138327Looks like we’re gonna be alright with what we’ve got. Lets hope so, Waghorn is imo one of the best players at the club so I have no problem being the first name on the sheet. Would like to see a(nother) goalscorer on the pitch as well though.

15 January 2015 at 5:21 pm #138329Bristol City have been linked with Wigan Athletic right-back James Tavernier.
The former Newcastle United right-back does not feature in Latics manager Malky Mackay’s plans and is reported to be available on loan.
City boss Steve Cotterill is in the market for a replacement for Todd Kane, the right-back who joined the Robins on loan in November only to be recalled by Chelsea last week.

When we buy a player we need to play to that players strengths, to ensure they keep scoring goals. We’ve had a few players over the last 5yrs that have come with decent goal scoring records but then do nothing for us. That’s probably because we stick them up front on their own and give them very little service.15 January 2015 at 5:30 pm #138331Maybe he’s a bigger unit than Delort to play up front on his own, I don’t know but Malky in every interview states how big a loss Grant Holt was. No doubt he’ll be on the look out for that exact type of player, which is a shame for the lads who could have scored a few goals to keep us out of this mess in the first place.
We are were we are though now and it probably needs some cloggers plus the better calibre of player we’ve kept to get us out of this.

8 in 18? What’s wrong with that?

Sorry, I should have put a winky, it was meant to be a bit sarcastic after my one man Delort campaign. He was 24 in 36. A goal ever 1.5 games for Delort, a goal every 2.25 foT’Vrede ;)
15 January 2015 at 9:37 pm #138344Roger, Riera, Tavernier and Maloney have left. That’s 4 gone and a unfit defender in. Two weeks gone! What a cocked up season from the calamatous pre season onwards. This squad with this manager and his strange formations and tactics would struggle in league 2.
15 January 2015 at 10:19 pm #138345Has Maloney actually left yet??

It’s 7 in 18 actually, but my worry is the fact if his goal per game ratio is just less than 1 every 2 games, why has he only played 18 games since 2012??
From Matlock to ManU
What a journey!16 January 2015 at 12:52 am #138349Who is the 1 in? Ridgewell counts for nothing in my opinion. Six weeks and injured is a fuckin waste of time!
