Can anybody remember the last time so much snow came down in just one night, I’m in 18 inches of the white stuff (oooh errr).
I was born in the seventies and lived in Wigan for all but 2 years of my life and I don’t remember seeing so much snow.
Back in 1981 we had a similar amount,all the kids were sledging down the middle of Orrell road all day!
I remember a pretty big snowfall in the early 70’s, I think. Half way up the front door.
The difference between today and ‘back then’ is that there weren’t as many sensationalist seekers making it out to be the worst thing to ever happen and that the world is about to end.
Just as an aside, the heaviest snowfall recorded in the UK was over 60 inches in 1740.
Just look how far we’ve come. Ha Ha!!
