Cowie and McClean leading the line? I fuckin give up!
Not a bad article Griff, pity you had, you had, you had, to spoil it with a bit of the old Fred Elliott’s in the Frank Lampard bit.
What have I told you about getting your mates to proof read your work, a said what have I told you……. :P
Oh, did I, did I? ;)
I was a bit up against the clock this week, so it was all a bit rushed. Thanks for the heads up, though Filmoss will be on your case – it’s usually him that points out my proofing errors.
I saw it but thought better of it! Thought you might think that I was getting a little trite! ;)
Bale has always had a look of Zoonie the Lazoon off ‘Fireball XL5’ and got ridiculed even before he rose to the top of the pile!
As for Crouch, he is gonna get ridicule for his height
Let he who is without sin cast the first stone, eh?
I am perfect in every way! ;)
In no particular order here is my take on the ‘Infamous Five’
Mate of mine did some work for Gary Neville and he tried to spark up a conversation with him only to be told ” I am paying you to do a job not talk ” Sounds like a right cunt to me!
Lampard isn’t fat but his ‘Ring kissing’ ( Make of that what you will! ) does tend to get on opposition fan’s nerves, especially when he is kissing it in front of them in the 94th minute after scoring the winner!
Beckham’s ok I suppose but Fergie had the measure of him and curtailed his ‘Brand Bandwagon’ before it got out of hand!
Bale has always had a look of Zoonie the Lazoon off ‘Fireball XL5’ and got ridiculed even before he rose to the top of the pile! Lots of players get lampooned, it’s what football fans do to ease the boredom when their team is playing shite, it’s just that our lot are not very good at it!
As for Crouch, he is gonna get ridicule for his height and awkward playing style! Also, let’s not forget the ‘Monica Mint’ story that surfaced just after yet another England failure in a major comp!
I thought he would have gone to Estudiantes, they have £6m sitting around doing nowt!
…I have chucked money in a bucket to keep Stan McKewan
Now who’s the Superfan?
I was carrying that fekin bucket! :woohoo:
I’ve seen you. You must have carried that, and a few more very heavy buckets, to get to look like that ;)
I carry a bucket most week days! :)
Now that’s funny, even after seeing about thirty times on proper social media.
Betty wishes he had employed a better manager now! :)
:-)
Just realised that my little joke can be taken two ways! Betty ( Bet he ) was my intention! ha ha
That would be quite amusing if it weren’t for the fact that it’s Rita in the picture ;)
Whoosh!! It’s Betty’s son ! Do try and keep up!
I wouldn’t take a blind bit of notice of what JJ says! ;)
I was speaking to one of my counterparts in the Championship, and he told me he was really looking forward to the visit of Wigan Athletic because it was one of the glamour games of the season.
“I told him it was probably the first time that Wigan Athletic have ever been described as being a glamour team! He explained it was because we’d been in the Premier League for eight years, we were the FA Cup holders and we would be playing in Europe next season.
“And I suppose, if you take a step back, we probably are one of the big teams in that league this year.
He said that a couple of months after we’d won the FA Cup. Can’t see the problem in that comment.
It’s a tongue in cheek hindsight thing Johnny! In other words what a load of bollocks that turned out to be !Ha ha ha He did also say at the same time that it was imperative that we got straight back into the top flight and that last season was the best chance of doing it! I say this because many on here thought that it wasn’t imperative at all? I know one thing, I would rather be in a relegation battle in the Prem than a relegation battle in The Championship!
I would have thought it patently clear that any new additions to the side will think to some degree that they can help us out of the mess we are in! I would like to think so!

Not a bad earner that, training the kids while still drawing a hefty wedge
Why is it an earner?
He’s either fulfilling part of the coaching role that come with his player/coach contract, or he’s doing it free of charge off his own back.
Key word “part” I would say he’s a player over coach so my question was , is he playing or what ?Caldwell signed a one year contract with Wigan in July 2014. As part of the new agreement he was also given some coaching responsibilities.
July 2015 get rid time,
To be honest, I’d be surprised if you knew the finer details of the precise arrangement between the club and Caldwell. After all, you seem to know nothing about anything else.
…and how do you come to that conclusion?
There is no need to know “the finer details of the precise arrangement between the club and Caldwell” as the club, in their statement stated:
“Wigan Athletic are delighted to confirm that club captain Gary Caldwell has signed a new one year deal to remain at the DW Stadium, which will see him combine playing duties with a coaching role at the Academy”.
so – “is he still playing or what ?”
Hardly a bloody difficult question to address – and I’m sure that some would have been more interested in the answer rather than self promotion,
Further, I agree that if he is only fulfilling part of his contract (for whatever reason) and still being paid his full salary, then it is indeed “a nice little earner” for him.
Oh dear, don’t tell me you’ve reverted to idiot mode over Christmas, too! And you were doing so well lately! ;)
The ‘if’ in you post is key. Nobody here knows whether his contract has been revised to include coaching duties or not. If it hasn’t, then he is actually performing extra duties for no extra pay. The fact that he is injured, out of form, or out of favour does not constitute only fulfilling part of his contract. He is a member of the first team squad, whether he can/is picked to play or not. I don’t think Jonathan Jackson has told Mackay that Caldwell can’t train on Thusday afternoons because he’s playing 5-a-side with the under 18s
I thought they were lucky not to get beat and that the away trip down that there London is not what they need right now with European football as well!
Just fetching the thread to the top in readiness ! ;)

Gotta fancy the Ammers now though.
I posted when they equalised !
