Imagine if you went to work this morning and your bosses said to you
” if you graft and work your bolocks off for the next 9 months you may get a pay rise of 5000% but you have to give it 5000% and you won’t be paid much at the moment but look at what you could get! ”
That is what this league is about and the sheer desire and hunger of the lesser paid promising players at this level is something to behold and bloody good on them.
Contrast that with the ex premier league deadwood still earning ridiculous salaries and still thinking they are the dogs b@@@@x and above their station.
That is why the leadership in the championship changes each week and teams will fight till the last second because everybody wants that big payday particularly lads who have never had one.
I hope they get up because the EPL is full of mid table flotsam like Sunderland and Stoke doing nothing but getting to 40 points and picking up the money without actually striving for anything at least they would have a go and inspire others from the lower divisions to do the same.
I remember years ago travelling to dean court and getting there very late after a nightmare journey , I couldn’t get in through the turnstiles as they were closed but the sympathetic office staff let us in for free and refused any money we offered ( the club were skint at the time- 1997 I think) them.
Smal ground or not they would be a very very welcome addition to the stagnation that is setting in to the league and an inspiration to smaller clubs throughout the lower divisions, bring it on I say and good luck to them ,they are now my second team!!!!The shame is you would get the likes of the ‘Billy Big Boolocks’ fans of your Chelseas and Arsenals et al taking the piss out their ground instead of applauding them for a massive achievement! Fans like that are so up their own arses it is untrue!
he will play untill shirts with poppys on appear ;)
I see he went off after 68 minutes tonight. Was this with a “knock” that will keep him out this weekend? ;)
Might not be the case for Friday games!
Be honest, who was quite shocked when we beat Derby? I know I was!
Has Andy Delort vanished off the face of the Earth?Probably opined to Rosler and we all know what happens when you cross da boss ! :silly:
To be fair the 2 goals we scored against Derby were pretty weak goals to concede by any team’s standards! The unbeaten run which to be honest was papering over the cracks is now over and so we must now ask the question, is Rosler the man for the job?
Well if Fulham win tomorrow night ( They should ) and Bolton beat us by a couple of goals on Friday, which I happen to think they will, then we will be in the bottom 3 come the end of Friday!
But this thread is titled ‘Tonight’s Defence’ of which there is just one change! Surprised to see Kiernan still getting a run out !
What about recent Wigan loan failure Marc Al’brighton’
You missed out ‘The Ugly’ from the thread title…..McClean’s boots!
Belting game Imo anyone think callum just over did the diving bit as it clearly was and after Kiernan swung an (just for philyis) lazy leg at a ball which went through to Rodders Barnett had to make the challenge and from where I was sat defo penalty
Was it in any doubt?
I thought it was an penalty! :)
Roger … Great goal, excellent assist, not bad for a headless chicken?
Kiernan … Keep reading he’s going to be a good one.. Love to know exactly what they base that opinion on?Kiernan is a liability, full stop! :S
what’s happent to Jay not seen an post from him for yonksIt’s ‘a post’ not ‘an post’ Basic grammar that even my 6 year old can grasp!
Kenny Sandsom!
I’ll get mi Kenny Jacket! :)
You’d better tell that to the three Beauchamps I have worked with in the past who all pronounced their name Bee-cham. Well, Bee-chum, more accurately. You tell em, it will be easier! :)
There’s only one way to pronounce Beauchamp and there ain’t no beach in there.
I’ve always pronounced it “Beecham” – but what do I know?
Apparently Debretts has no idea either:)

So have I, and anyone I’ve ever known.
Maybe in Leyth they pronounce it Bow-Shomp. Nothing would surprise me. ;)
Beauchamp is always pronounced as French sounding because it comes from the 2 French words Beau and Champ meaning Beautiful Field! Like this………..
