second punch was an utterly disgraceful act.

Correct. I actually like Ben as a player and he’s a pretty funny guy off the field but I lost a lot of respect for him after the second punch. The first is almost understandable but the second is sick. To do either in a major final when it was obvious that that was their gameplan was stupid.

Moved to non-football. Wasn’t aware it was on the main board.
Why is the first punch acceptable? So you are saying that some punching in the face is ok? Sounds more like a rabble of hooligans rather than a sport!
The first punch you can understand (where did I say acceptable?) as he has just been elbowed in the face which is why he retaliated (and yes Hohaia retaliated to a hit from Flower) with the punch. Had he not done what he did on the ground then both players would probably have been sin binned to calm down. If he doesn’t throw a punch at all then Hohaia could easily have seen red himself.

Rugby League is a tough, competitive, contact sport and occasionally tempers flare and punches are thrown. It’s usually dealt with by a sin binning unless something else happens such as what Flower did later. The pattern of what happened was pretty much cheap shot, cheap shot, retaliation, sick and uncalled for.
Surely if you think that a punch is understandable then you therefore accept it do you not? Legalised thuggery if you ask me!

At the end of the day the team that came top of the league lifted the coveted trophy and so the result was justified in my eyes!

On his day McCann would walk into any Championship side, top player who had just started to get his form back when he got injured…..Again! That Kvist is going to be an invaluable addition to our side as well, very vocal and looks the part! Once Watson and McCann are fully fit Cowie shouldn’t get a sniff in! Guy whose windows I clean is a Cardiff fan and he said he was glad to see the back of him! On the other hand he was sad to see Taylor leave and I can see why!

My next game is today, Bamber Bridge v Chorley in the FA Cup, should be a good game with a good atmosphere! £7 if anyone fancies it but be early as this one is expected to sell out!

Saw all the horses and riot vans in the main high street near to where I work
hardly the Milan derby but it takes all sorts !
More police than a Wigan home game! Surveillance vans and coppers filming the crowd! Also frisked on the way in and some fans got interviewed by police with cameras? No trouble as far I could see and a convincing 4-1 win for the Magpies! One more win and they go into the draw for the first round proper!

If I am performing well in my job, I would be totally miffed if my boss says well done mate, done the business there, but I’m bringing Fred Bloggs in next week in your place, take a break sunshine.

Yes, but you’d also have a decent case to present in court which is why it doesn’t happen. Whether you like it or not, football is a totally different business to normal ones like project management or window cleaning or health and safety management.

If you don’t believe me, go and line up with Horc at the DW stadium and apply for the manager’s job and see if you get a go at it. If you don’t know Horc, he will be the one swearing at any young kids that happen to be walking past.
Window cleaning and health and safety management in the same sentence, now that is funny! :)

Unless they win the Europa league cup if they do they will be in the champions league next season

Can you imagine if they won that but he took his eye off the league and they went down! :) I was talking to an Everton fan yesterday and he said that last season RM had been a refreshing change but this season he was starting to embarrass himself a little with his post match comments! He went on to mention him having certain ‘Buzz words’ that he uses ( Remember those folks! ) ‘Belief’, ‘Manner’, ‘Possession’ ‘Positives’, were 4 words that the lad repeated to me yesterday! He then said that RM had said after the Swansea cup exit that the side had played well and had enjoyed plenty of possession and that the scoreline ( 3-0 ) didn’t reflect the true game, when in fact according to the lad it was the shittest he had seen them play in a long time! Well at least Rosler holds his hand up and accepts responsibility sometimes!

Agreed the changes were necessary but why the formation change, just go like for like. Cowie on the right?
According to the tinkerman fortune had a good game at Bournemouth and great today so why play delort against forest.
Stability brings understanding but I guess I’m just old school and this is modern football…doesn’t mean it’s right though?

Yes – but backintheday we used to play with full backs, half backs, wingers, inside forwards and centre forwards. Oh! and shirts were numbered 1 to 11.

You are right, it is the modern game; but we have to trust that the manager has done his homework and set out a team (and formation) to counter the opposition and if that means “tinkering” as some people call it (I prefer calling it tactics) then so be it.

It’s good to have this banter on the football boards and in the pub, however, if any of us were to be let loose with the team selection and formation on the day – then Heaven bloody help us.
Yeah Mick McCarthy couldn’t believe his luck when he saw the formation and tactics that were put into use against his side eh! ;) Faux pas springs to mind for that one !

4-4-1-1 is the formation according to Sporting Life but no doubt other media sites will differ because at the end of the day no fucker knows really do they! Fortune over the other 2 is a little strange especially after Tuesday’s performance!

Happy for him to prove me wrong! :cheer:

Hang on a moment, we are talking about Grant Holt, the bloke who used to try to jump but forgot to make his feet leave the ground??
Delort doesn’t look the best but to put him in the same bracket as Holt isn’t quite right.
Holt is over weight & an over rated player. Lets hope Huddersfield sign him when his loan spell is up.

Bob on. He may well have had a decent game for Huddersfield, but one swallow a summer does not make
That one swallow doesn’t make a Summer saying is true because once I moved in with her it never happened again! ;)
