Quite a few bad signings have been mentioned here as opposed to pointless ones. Looking more for signings who were always injured or never featured.
Carlo Nash would be one as would the Italian keeper we signed with the incredibly hot Mrs. Raphael Nuzzo??
Nash played in the reserves and so not pointless !
I believe Bill Kenwright gave RM the job because he really believes that he is the man to get them a top 4 finish, now if RM can deliver then he will have been a sound investment, if not then it’s groundhog day for poor little Everton !
If you compare the Prem table to around this time last season you will see that there is a slight improvement this season after 24 games played. RM has managed 2 extra wins as opposed to draws last season and has tightened up the defence to the tune of 2 less goals conceded. Apart from that, the goal tally is exactly the same(37)as is their league position(5th). All in all I would say that RM is doing a decent job and has carried on where Moyes left off but will he be able to emulate Moyes’s 2004/05 magical (And totally unpredicted) 4th spot finish? Watch this space !
I would say that we haven’t done too well in the past when we have adopted a lone striker role ! Now I don’t really care what formation we play as long as it isn’t one that has us with said lone striker struggling on his own up front !
The question is, is he intelligent enough to attract a decent Premiership club ? You may get the likes of Cardiff, Sunderland etc interested in him but would any of the established top 10 sides come in for him ? Like I said, he is a standout player in The Championship but just doesn’t cut it with the big boys ! He would fit in well in the Portuguese, Dutch or French top tiers I think !

He is a good Championship player but not good enough for the Prem ! I am glad he is still with us because he can turn a game on its head when he has his footballing head on !
