Fishing in Wigan,ie chucking a bit of line in some shitty pond or canal with the hope of catching some scrawny cocky is a pile of crap. Now fishing for trout in the scottish highlands is a different kettle of fish!
You fish in a kettle?[/quote]
Beats a catchless winter morning at the Deep Pit, I suppose.
Haven’t seen enough of Macheda to be honest. He’ll probably cost a bomb since he’s from Man U so DW might want to steer clear…
… it is likely that Wigan’s wage bill will further reduce in the next set of accounts, as these will reflect the departure of some of the highest earners like Paul Scharner, Titus Bramble and Jason Koumas (on loan).
Koumas one of the highest earners? Looks like he needs to take a wage cut or get on out. He’s still on our books, right?
I like the sound of that Trotter guy.Could form a good partnership with Boycie.
Not forgetting our very own “Rodders”, Hugo Rodallega.
Good news, guys:
“Lots of you told us it would be something of a tragedy if Stoke City v Wigan Athletic wasn’t shown live, with Wigan’s top-flight status hinging on the outcome of the game.
The clash attracted only 7.95 per cent of the vote, but we agree it should be shown live – so that is what we’re going to do!”
I just want this season to be over without much incident so we can remember it simply for the wins over Chelski and Liverpool. Move on quickly, like.
Well, it has been pretty bad but then our expectations may be too high. Perhaps this team we have at the moment isn’t really capable of maintaining a Premiership status? In which case I suppose we may have actually overachieved this season.
Some very, very good points there. In fact you make a good argument for going down, but I’d still rather be watching us play the likes of Man U and Liverpool than Blackpool or Swansea at the DW. Can we not have a revolution and, like, stay in the Prem?
Why do I get the feeling that, right now, the fans care far more than many of our players? Maybe I’m just fickle.
I remember writing something about this in the Mudhutter a few months back. Well, I submitted the story so I dunno if it was published…
Anyway, I made exactly the same point about Scharner – it’s his inconsistency that irks me. Can we blame him for being a bad finisher? Well, he’s our second highest goalscorer for this season and he’s sure as hell better than Gomez. For the position to work we need someone else… someone like, erm, Charles N’Zogbia actually.
Let’s just say he’s had far better games. :)
Think we could beat Hull but things would have to improve from today. I reckon that’d keep us up, just about.
Erm, I’d say anything else we get is a bonus.
McCarthy is the standout for me. I’m gonna reserve further judgement on this until Moses and Moreno have fully settled into Premiership life, which will probably be midway through next season now…
Scharner’s become increasingly petulant in recent times – three needless bookings in four games if I remember. Evidently he was trying to blame some pass he sold short on poor McCarthy going down the tunnel.
Also, did anyone notice he took ten minutes to leave the field when subbed? As if we were away from home and wanted to waste time or something?
