I was surprised we did not start tonight with the team that finished the game at Bolton. Bayliss started off OK but he faded badly ,we looked better when Max Power was pushed into midfield late in the game ,a change we probably should have made at half time. On the whole ,too many players had an off night against a lively MK Dons side.

Have seen vids from that lad and his dad before and they are generally respectful and focus on the games rather than their pond life.
The comment from a supporter which I think is about Garcia though in the half time concourse bit is totally unacceptable and vile and he should have removed it.
Great win yesterday and Latics are by far the best team in the division in my opinion.
I wasn’t that bothered about promotion this season but now think it is inevitable looking at how good this Latics team is and how easily they destroy teams.
The force with which they attacked yesterday was premier league standard never mind the championship and it could easily have been more yesterday.[/quote

Let’s not get carried away ,I am not going to make any claims about us being the best team in the league ,it does not end well. However , we are clearly one of the best sides . Great day yesterday ,fans were brilliant.Big game on Tuesday night. Up the Tics !

Derby now appealing their 12 point deduction. Will be interesting if they win as we appealed on the same grounds (covid). Hope they realise Barnsley will request to be present at the hearing.

It did not. All it did was give the Wigan lot time to congregate on the bridge and block it.
If your keeping fans back at least clear the area first.

Most of the Latics fans had well gone by the time a few kids waited on the bridge and there were that many Police on duty they were soon dispersed by the time the Bolton fans got there. All in all the game at the DW was very well Policed.

                Ticket arrived this morning.

Fully expecting us to be locked in after the game

To be fair it worked well keeping the Bolton fans back at the DW .

Not sure what your point is Mutty ,they are not negotiating here we are talking about a rental figure that has already been agreed that has not been paid .( allegedly )…. Anyway back to the football ,routine win for us today with Max Power putting things right after his og on Tuesday. How did your boys get on ?

I usually sit in the West Stand (buy tickets as and when due to work) but last night sat with a mate in ES3. The behaviour of the pricks in ES2 is shocking. Coming to the end of the game and at the final whistle, empty coca cola bottles where raining down from the top of ES2. They were meant for the linesman during the game and the Wednesday fans at the end of the game but due to the lack of strength in the 15 year old skinny arms and the lightweight of the empty bottles they were landing on the fans at the bottom of ES2. Is this normal from ES2? Also, when they scored their second goal the stewards, fairly roughly ejected a Wednesday fan for jumping into the space between the stand and the pitch. Ive never seen this happen to any Wigan fans on an away match when they are actually on the pitch after celebrating a goal.
Wednesday were a good, big, strong team who looked dangerous every time they broke forward and I agree with a previous poster. They will be there or thereabouts

Was that the Wednesday fan with the gun and making slit your throat gestures to the Wigan fans ? If it was he deserved all he got. As for Wednesday I was not impressed ,two poor sides on the night but it might just give them boost they need .

Your right about Wyke ,when Humphries was warming up I thought he was going to come on for Wyke ,surprised when Keane came off. Just thought we never really got going last night, it could be because the Cheltenham was too easy ( no disrespect) we did not have to get out of second gear in that game ,against Wednesday they were in our faces from the off and we never really got to grips with it. Big test now against Gillingham.

I wonder how much the administrators will be looking for to buy Derby ? They say they have buyers lined up ,where have we heard that before ?They don’t own their stadium I am not sure what other assets they have other than the playing staff and they have massive debts. Thankfully ,the admin stuck to their guns in our case by not selling the stadium ( to you know who )making us a lot more attractive proposition for any prospective buyers.

Mutty might come if he isn’t helping his daughter move.

Be nice for him to see a Wigan team score at home.

Yeah, I came for this one. Even the two lads with the drums didnt stay much longer than the 70th minute, I did find it amusing that their rapid beat suddenly turned to a funeral-style single beat as Luke O’Nien swept the 2nd goal in.

Don’t think I heard the drummer all night ,very subdued atmosphere for the whole match apart from a few muffled chants.Even the Sunderland fans were relatively quiet.

I think the lineups showed that it isn’t the priority for either of us.

Well done to Sunderland, but I wouldn’t swap a win tonight over finishing above them in the league.

I think our line up in particular showed the game was not a priority for us. Expected a stronger bench at least. A comprehensive defeat ,outplayed from start to finish .
