It is very, very sad what is happening at blackpool.
Probably the greatest most satisfying promotion in our history given the chaos and unrest of last season.
The manager and the back room team as well as the young chairman deserve great credit in getting the club stabilised and then providing the loyal 8000 supporters with a season to remember .
A bit of prudent team strengthening from our new scouting network and who knows what this exciting young team can achieve going forward.
In some respects I will miss this division with the honesty shown by the majority of the players and the good standard of technical ability that was far better than when we last graced this division 12 years ago.
Well done to all concerned in getting this great club back in the news for the right reasons rather than the wrong ones !
Bloody fantastic Wigan !!!!I share all your sentiments vince about the division, as i for one will miss it. I have enjoyed football played at a good, honest level. But onwards & upwards.

Didn’t Blackpool have exactly the same parachute payments???. Stop being negative mon, its not about the money, its what you do with it that counts. Ask the QPR fans.
Our Mr Sharpe, Mr Jackson and Mr Caldwell, have done a superb job and touch wood, will achieve what they say they would achieve barring a fall at the last fence. Lets leave money out of this, it bugs me to death when pundits, other managers, other fans harp on about it, its seems ten times worse when it’s coming from our own fans.
Well when you consider how much leicester have spent on players this season, it is indeed what you do with it.
What has impressed me about caldwell this season is how he has firstly spent wisely, & secondly, how he has brought that squad of players together & got them to play as a team. After a slow start this team has bonded week after week & steadily risen to the top. Top marks to everyone connected with the club.
Thank you Mr Sharpe for delivering what you promised.
Ah but he hasn’t delivered what he promised donny. He promised that we were going to “smash” the league & get past 100 points. Bloody rubbish wigan :(
No – he said he would like us to smash 100 points.
Not the same as promising :)
Only kidding mr garswood

Is this the new thread. Wonder if this one will last 3 seasons.
We will piss promotion to the Premier League in the next couple of seasons. Jewell did it with ease but these days we play much better football than in Paul’s era so Championship a piece of piss.
A positive post Donny, or has someone hacked your account :unsure
Hahahahaha!!
I promised i wouldn’t post again but just one more.
Despite my hatred for the way he relegated then left us, i have to admit i actually felt sorry for him the other night. Only the FA cup (the irony) will save him. But from speaking to my EFC mates, even if he won the cup they would not want to put up with his style of play for another season.
As for caldwell leaving for celtic, well
a) he isnt yet ready
b) i dont think he will leave just yet.
c) if he does leave he will do so with my blessing as he didn’t relegate us & fook off at the 1st opportunity for so called bigger & better things.Jees donny. Are you negative in life as you are with football. I for one will settle for that point gained & will also settle for a dull & boring 1 – 0 at the weekend, so long as its more points gained for our promotion push.
Performances mean nowt at this stage of the season, its points however they are gained. To quote that great philosopher of game shows “& what do points make…..”
It will be different than Saturday but who knows!!
How about..
Jussi
Wabs Morgan Pearce Warnock
Power McCann Morsy.
Vuckick Grigg WildshuttSubs Daniels Barnett Davies Jacobs Colclough.
That team would do me, though i reckon McAleney will feature somewhere.
Probably in place of vuckick.
Having seen the goals from the other day, (set pieces & a penalty), the first two could have been avoided if defended properly. Whether the penalty could have been avoided – probably not – meaning a draw would have been the result.
But i do believe saturdays result might be a good kick up the backside, & hence, a close win tonight. Is not singing yet with shit results like that. More points thrown away against rubbing rags.
Five points alone dropped against Doncaster.
Look over your shoulder Gary. A Tuesday win essential now after this pathetic result today. To quote garswood. FFS donny. Have you seen the other results today. I think all of the top 6 have dropped points today. We have no right to win matches. That loss might just be what we needed. A good old kick up the arse might just be what we need to gain promotion. & have you checked the league table. We are still top.
Walsall won!
I realised that after i posted it. The rest lost though so all in all it wasnt a bad weekend.
Burton and Bradford drew!
Thank you for quoting me again fil. A very tired day after work yesterday. I was meant to say the others lost points too.
Im confident of a tight 2 – 1 win at burton followed by a tighter & edgier 1 – 0 win over southend.
