Don’t worry Horc it’ll be too cowd to be bored t’neet.
Well hope the tempo is raised a bit. What a difference that makes to the spectators.
Been 2 nil down many times but the crowd have been still up for it. Fans didn’t really get going last Thursday until we scored our first and then we speeded it up a bit.I’ll be bringing me thermals toneet then. I’ll be warm.
I think he’ll come on as a 65th minute sub when it is 1 – 1 & will contribute in some way (either scoring himself or assisting) to lead us to a 2 – 1 win.
There is only one winner – the one that to this day & to the day i die will always live long in the memory – 11 may 2013
Well if it was all down to you Mr Runcornfan all I have to say is a BIG THANK YOU VERY MUCH FOR YOUR INPUT!!!!!.Thanks rich. Obviously i don’t want to take all the credit for my input, but if they had read my post……
Mr caldwell & sharpe must have read my post from october asking to sign him permanentely
Oh dear! Looks like the old darkside vs lightside is re-emerging again. & why is it when we win a few games – all is fine, yet lose a couple &/or play badly in those said games & the usual pessimistic &perhaps our more moronic posters post their typical drivel.
Yes, yesterdays game was SOOOOOOO frustrating, but is it really necessary to start calling for caldwell’s head – who might i stress is a very young manager & is still learning his trade. Sometimes he might get it right & on other occassions ie yesterday, he will get it wrong. I for one am pleased with him & i do feel we will head in the right direction under his leadership.
Where he gets it wrong IMO is playing both perkins & power together – 2 very defensive minded midfielders who are too similar & will play backwards, sideways etc. He needs to play one of those with either jacobs or junior & play a system that gets the ball to grigg &/or other striker(s), because withoit decent service grigg just looks like a lazy sod. Change those & we will be fine.
But please, way too soon to start calling for his head or for taxis. Give the guy a chance.Personally i am not keen on this word “decline”. A decline is if the likes of liverpool, man utd etc fell from the premier league into league 1or 2, coupled with a decrease in attendances. What WE (we meaning WAFC – a small town lancashire club) have had is a set back. Lots of teams have them, teams a lot bigger than ours & some teams take years to get back. We have had a bad two years, but i am confident this team can get us back, not to where some might say we belong, but back to putting a smile on our faces.
Pedestrian victory against a team of non footballers who came to frustrate and kick us off the park.
They failed miserably and to be honest we never came out of first gear – we never needed to!
We will have bigger tests but this season is starting to take shape now and we are most definitely a contender for promotion.
playing badly but still outclassing the opposition ?
No buts from me I’m afraidThe season is indeed starting to take shape, but what worries me is our loanees. Do we plan to extend their loan spells, sign them permanently or will they be going back to their respective clubs come january.
We have always had numpty supporters & moreso since we graced the premier league. However, i can recall a supporter after our very 1st home game this season which ended in a disappointing & boring (TBF) 0 – 0 draw. At the end one bloke behind me shouted “Absoulte sh1te – p155 off now caldwell you useless twohat”
I haven’t seen him since that opening day.Yes it is clear on there. As my mum used to say ‘ looking with my eyes shut’
Cheers.
Saturdays draw is on Soccer Saturday.
At least the final is a few weeks before the play offs, if we have to go twice.
Hopefully it is automatic promotion to avoid this and hopefully we can make Wembley again.Oh no donny. Automatic. Couldn’t cope with yet another play off heartbreak. Our record in them isnt that good.
Sorry I thought the final was a one off. It don’t think it says two legs on the JPT website. The area finals (ie;.northern & southern) are 2 legged – played home & away, bit like the league cup semi finals. The area finals are effectively semis. The big grand final played at wembley is a one off occasion.
Not too bothered TBH. League is main priority & so.far we are on course.
Was it the great Bill Shankley who said it only takes a minute to score a goal.Brian clough (i believe) said something similar too. Jimmy greaves once said it only takes a second to score a goal.
Morgan has been a rock for us this season in the games that he has played. I think crammy is referring to a couple of incidents in the game where even i had my heart in the mouth.
By far MOM (again) yesterday. As the OP mentioned covered every blade of grass & battled from start to finish. He epitomises what this team is about. Surprised witchut? got it. Poor game by his standards & jacobs IMO for that matter. But perkins (at this rate – player of the season(so far)
