If you think that yes but what about thick and thin eh ?
You don’t get that these days, do you? We always used to buy it so we’d have some bread for sandwiches and some for toast. But now it’s either medium or thick – you can’t even get thin now. And I’ve checked and medium and thick are the same anyway.
How times change
It is the Daily Mail :P
In the main football page linking to the story in summary it says:
Struggling QPR face a financial meltdown if they are relegated from the Premier League – because none of their stars will be forced to take a pay cut.
Wigan Athletic Development Squad.
I don’t know why they are called that, but would guess because they aren’t actually the second team – with 24 squad players we can field another team behind the “first team”, and do when playing Carling Cup, FA Cup etc. The WADS team are primarily the youngsters who are coming through the ranks and being developed – hence the name.
And I have no idea where Phil’s post has gone – I don’t even remember seeing one.
Strong team. Whenever I go to watch them they always play the youngsters (nothing against them, but would still like to see some “proper” reserves)
And yet, earlier I happened to be out in the car and listening to Radio 5 previewing tonight’s Arsenal game and the “expert pundits” were discussing the bottom of the table.
One comment that was made (in complete opposition to the “everyone’s laughing at us” viewpoint that has been expressed on here) was that people who know the game look at Bolton, Blackburn and, yes, Wigan and consider that they could get out of it (the quote was “Wigan – because of the way they play” – their words not mine) while Wolves and QPR have deep problems that will mean they struggle.
A further view was then put forward that teams who have been at the bottom all season may hit a few good results and gain confidence, while others who haven’t known that pressure will crumble when results start going against them.
We ain’t done for yet.
Optimism and confidence are what we have left – and not everyone has that, Griff.
I’m with babis and bob16 here – if we go down let’s not go down meekly – and certainly, folks, no crying on TV while wearing fancy dress. It looks ridiculous – in fact you look a Wally.
But maybe – just maybe —-
Just said on final score “Wigan are just diabolical in my opinion”Just said, sat in front of my keyboard “Savage is just a boneheaded moron”
Come on Latics – a 4-0 win and we’re out of the relegation zone :cheer:
Personal choice as well for me number 11 purely coz I normally wore it.Would the number 10 shirt be iconic because of Pele?Quote from a contributor: “10 has historically been the number associated with greatness, the number worn by star players: Pele, Maradona, Platini, Matthaus, Baggio, Bergkamp, Zidane, Ronaldinho, and the greatest player right now in Messi”
Personal choice, but for me it had to be number 7.Keegan, Dalglish, Robson, Cantona, Beckham
Matthews – oh, showing my age now :(
But… Sir Andrew Liddell :)
Charlton? (red herring – ‘addicks?)
On me ed(i)son could possibly be a contender for one of the worst puns on here ever
goodpost goodpost goodpost
