next thing we will be below 10,000 ….but i wont step in that stadium untill whelan is gone
Isn’t that what’s called a self-fulfilling prophecy?
Bob’s comments about the performance confirm what a number of us are thinking:
http://news.bbc.co.uk/sport1/hi/footbal … 223692.stm… and I’ll copy and paste the relevant bit :D :
“The Wigan boss made nine changes to the team that lost 5-0 to Manchester United on Saturday and said the replacements had let him down.
“As a professional footballer you need to be ready for the chance when it comes along. We can learn a lot from this defeat,” he said.
“Those who have not been involved in the league games were given an opportunity tonight, but it was not good enough. “
“…the years even before whelan came ”
?????????
We nearly went out of the League. We wouldn’t even be in existence now…!!!
I hope what ever the crowd is make their feelings known
WHELAN OUT! WHELAN OUT! WHELAN OUT!………..
My thoughts too, Griff.
Here were a group of players who are given the chance to impress and perhaps get into the first-team squad, or even starting places.
If they can’t be bothered doing that then there’s absolutely nothing any manager can do about it.
I’m more embarrassed than upset !Why? What are you doing?
The day that I’m bothered by the opinions of someone who spells “of” as “ov”, spells “he has” as “he as”, and doesn’t know that the first personal pronoun is written with a capital letter, is the day I give up my season ticket.
It’s also the day I’ll worry about what crowds we are getting. I’ll be there – I really don’t care if others want to come or not.
Goal down already!!
If someone is directing me to a particular article then rather than me have to click on the link and figure out which bit is relevant (particularly on a site that updates regularly) then it’s very useful to have had the relevant parts copied and pasted.
“Saw nothing other than plenty of passion myself in the ground ,beats the souless ,sit there and wait for the action to take place atmosphere we have at the shiny new DW .
Give me a night like that anyday .”You have no idea what you’re talking about.
I started watching football in the late 60s and 70s. Things like that were rife then.
It wasn’t exciting. It wasn’t glamorous. It was very scary. It was not a thrill. It was not enjoyable.
You would go to games watching out who was near you (no segregation then) and worrying whether you’d get home safely.
Give me soulless able-to-watch-the-match-safely every time.
Tomorrow’s WEP will say it was our fault!
Well – they really are out in force.
Just 3 points from 3 games. Not going to win the league now.
Liverpool really are in a mess.
How come our doom and gloom merchants reckon with 3 points from 3 games (which has also included Man U) means we’re going to be relegated?
If I could remember how to post I’d ….
Damn! forgot what I was going to say…..
(and you may think I’m joking – but I’m not!!)
Fair enough, we haven’t really got rid of any keepers or centre halves but personally I think that this team might be easier on the eye than Whelan’s current Championship cast-off XI, and a better bet for staying up. Of course, he’d be £100m worse off, though.
Carroll
Chimbonda DeZeuw Webster Baines
Valencia Palacios Cattermole McCulloch
Ellington HeskeySubs: Bullard, Taylor, Roberts
take out Webster, Valencia and Taylor and thats a reet good team there Martin.[/quote]
But then we’d only have 8 players :?
Just rewatched MotD and Kirky seriously at fault.
Kingson looked OK last season – is he still with us?
