“Trying to lay down the law”

I think you might find that’s what a Moderator does.

I am getting confused now. It’s obviously my age.

But I thought this was a football thread about Jordi Gomez and suddenly – yet again – it’s become diverted to a thread about whether the Warriors have a game this weekend.

Stick to topic please. This is getting very boring.

Someone asked why people don’t come here any more.

Stop going on about the rugby all the time?

Because writing something people may disagree with is not something, on this board, to be banned for. I know the rugby board do. As does Liverpool’s RAWK forum. And that’s wrong.
Forums are for debate. God help us, if we ban everyone we disagree with we’ll have no-one left once Jordi starts playing again.
Mutty can be annoying, but his arguments are reasoned, and with not an asterisk in sight.
Argue against his points rationally, and you should have no problem in getting him to disappear. Fight his comments with logic and wit.
            Simple enough.

By the way, Bullitt. The nonsense was on the rugby articles of the WEP. I only was directed to it by someone pointing out my name was being used.

How did you come to read the comments on those articles, you being so anti-rugby and all that? Surely you would have no reason to have read them?

Maybe it was for the language used, not the content?

No idea who he is, besides what it is possible to track if you can use Google properly, that his story of being a Wigan rugby and Sunderland supporter who has spent time in the armed forces is true.

His IP address is unique – so he is not a multi.

I disagree with a lot of things he writes – he has said that himself. we have crossed swords in the past.

But I do know one thing. When there was a lot of stupidity going on on the WEP, when a Latics fan of unknown origin was so obsessed with everything that was written about Warriors that it became embarrassing, someone accused me in public – both by my name here and more personally by my real name – of being the troll, I know that Mutty publically stood up for me. He accepted it wasn’t me – that the trolling was not my style, even though I disagreed with him on a lot of things. Th eperson who originally posted the accusation withdrew the comment and apologised publically.

Mutty gained respect from me for that.

And what did the Latics troll do? He posted more inflammatory stuff under the name “garswood latic”.

But no, I genuinely don’t know who mutty is.

I used to say that many years ago, before we ever dreamed of really getting in the PL, but Bolton were yo-yoing.

Be an established Championship club. Get promotion with big crowds and the good feeling of winning promotion.

Spend a year in the PL, with big crowds wanting to see the big names, and gather in the money.

Spend next year in the Championship – getting good crowds because of wins and promotion.

Repeat ad infinitum. Like Norwich seem to be doing at present.

Our problem actually was that we stayed too long in the PL. It became a boring struggle against the odds which we were never going to overcome.

….and the multi-ID troll brings the sensible and adult discussion about dynamic pricing and economics to a conclusion.

Good! Now do one you boring git, report that to the mods too!

…….The only difference i would make is charge the away supporters £25, but charge home fans £15 – £20.

I’ve given up posting on here in the main, and will probably drift away completely now.

But before I go – do you really think this was a game of village cricket? Do you really think this was something where we say “oh well, well played, chaps”, and go off quietly?

This is a monumentally stupid decision that has been delivered by lies, untruths and outright deception. Have you noticed all these immigrants packing their bags? Are you now suddenly able to get an appointment at your doctors? Are the roads empty? Are employers now hiring only British people?

A General Election is a vote that has a final result. At the end of it one side loses.

But do the losers then sit back and say “oh, I’ll let this go now”? No. They fight on. They tell everyone in the world that wants to listen that the decision was wrong, that they were no part of it, and as soon as possible they want to change it. Whichever side wins.

Don’t talk absolute crap. This was a monumentally stupid decision that everyone involved in the “winning” team didn’t expect or plan for. Try to understand this – THEY didn’t want it. It’s not about champagne socialists, it was about Johnson and Gove leading a campaign against Cameron, that they never expected to win, but that was designed to push out Cameron leaving the space clear for Johnson with high ranking positions in Government for Gove. It was meant to show that they understood popular concerns, but without actually having to do anything about them.

It’s now gone pear-shaped for them. Because they’ve won, and have not got a single clue of where to go now. Whoever takes over as PM has to decide whether to ignore the referendum vote, which will lead to all sorts of problems internally, or to enact Article 50, and be down in history as the person who really put us in the crap. We are not going to get lots of great trade deals now. The EU will make an example of us. Thay are going to play hard ball. They don’t need us, whatever the Daily Mail might say. The US wants to deal with Europe in a one-off negotiation. Special relationship? Don’t make me laugh.

You have been conned. But you will never, ever, accept that.
