I think it was when we beat Sunderlamd, and were there for a week because of the way fixtures went.
Approx 2006?
Oxford University has done research to show that professional footballers have a higher incidence of adult deafness. As such their recommendation is that crowds sing quieter.1/10
Serious question here fellas:If you do go up, do you think Emyr Huws will be back in a Latics shirt? He was very disrespectful to GC and the squad he has assembled last summer, and I would imagine that GC wouldn’t want someone in his squad who considered everyone else beneath him.
I don’t think so. But that’s my personal view, and when I wrote a few weeks back that if we don’t need him in League One why would we want him in the Championship I got sniped at.
So I won’t be saying that again ;)
Im going to stick up for refs here.
Yes – during a game I will scream and shout, but when I put my rational head on referees are not biassed. Incompetent maybe. Miss things certainly. But actually biassed to one team or another – I don’t think so.
We have a professional set-up and more skilful players than other teams, who have the nous at times to draw fouls and make the most of it. Refs aren’t always conned as easily. We also are usually on the front foot this season, attacking more as we are the superior team. It’s defending teams who foul, not (in general) attacking dominant teams, so we get fouled more, or at least seem to be.
As I always said about players too, there’s a reason they play for Wigan and not Barcelona. So similarly there’s a reason our referees this season are refereeing League One and not in the Euros.
Without referees at all levels the game would not exist. They do a difficult job for virtually no praise but constant criticism. Tell them they haven’t done a good job, may disappoint them, but they’ll try to improve. Tell them they are a cheat, and they will get very angry.
And no, I am not, and have never been, a referee.
How often do we say “we could do with two fast un’s and a quick un”
Well we got em today, in a 5 minute purple patch at the start of the second half.
Well done the Tics.
One day we will really batter somebody :woohoo: :woohoo: :woohoo:
It’ll take a bit of head scratching to figure out when we last scored three goals inside five minutes. Where is Stato when you need him :cheer: :cheer:[/quote]
At Goodison?
I was privileged to actually see him play live. Far too young.
First manager for quite a while to have a Plan B
I would love to know what was written on that piece of paper that Haris brought on and passed around, seemed to do the trick though. :woohoo:
:cheer:
Up the tics!“Put round bouncy thing in square netty thing”
Just wonder if him or any of the other loaneezs will be back if we went up?If we didn’t need them in League One, why would we want them in the Championship?
We mustn’t underestimate teams at the bottom of the league. The are fighting for every point they can get, and there is no such thing as an easy game.
…Ah! The old “it was only a wind-up” defence.
Good God! Talk about Wiganers being glass half empty ……
Just this minute seen it on SSN stating that walsall have resigned jordy hiluwa from huddersfield until the end of the season. I never knew he had played for them. Is this a typing error on SSN & is it us who have resigned him.He palyed 19 games for them last season scoring 9 goals, on loan
Personally I think having “FA Cup Winners 2013” in our honours list as being a next level too.
I’m surprised that JonnyFairc didn’t mention that. He made a good point about attendances though.
