I think the major difference was that in November we could all (well, maybe some of us?) see the players’ fitness levels dropping rapidly. We were quickly going backwards.
This season by November we were seeing Gary starting to get the team to gel after a difficult start.
The sign of good senior management at CEO and Chairman level is not just to take a snapshot of where we are, but in recognising the direction of travel and act decisively.
Under OC we were rapidly going backwards; even now under GC we can see us improving.

We have had shedfuls of moans on here that we play fancy football but lose. Loads of comments that we need sometimes to win dirty.

May be true of course but strange it’s not appeared elsewhere. Use some judgement in what you believe.
Reports in French and German press just before Christmas say he was missing, but that he’d had off field problems and, with a curious phrasing, “may have given up his responsibilities”.
The website of his club, TSV Steinbach, just mentions he’s missing and asks that they aren’t asked about him.
