How much time does he need? At least as long to match the unbeaten run plus some more I would suggest.
Does anyone know Sunderland’s record v United over same period in Premier League?http://www.11v11.com/teams/sunderland/tab/opposingTeams/opposition/Manchester%20United
It’s actually 19. They did us in Lancashire cup in 90s and when JJB stadium was opened. If you’re going to count that then it’s 20.
We played a United team (including Beckham, Scholes, Neville) at Springy in the Lancashire Cup.

We then also played them in a friendly for the JJB opening in 2000.
Two separate occasions.
Would be interesting to see what happens if we do get promoted. Would we throw money at the division or try and go up ‘on the cheap’?There is of course the middle model that we seem to have adopted.
At home most of us don’t buy top shop prices for food to keep up with the neighbours, but equally we don’t have to buy Smart Price.
Wigan Athletic are a very financially soundly managed club. The team have all sorts of analysts looking at performance, styles of play, options etc on the field. I fully expect that off the field the top of the shop have financial models in place that will calculate how much can be spent on various aspects without things ever becoming a problem. There will be all sorts of models for player wages, transfer fees in/out, sponsorship, sales, matchday revenue etc etc.
There are a number of rogue owners of other clubs out there that don’t do this, and end up in problems as they solely gamble and speculate. David Sharpe (with whatever guidance he needs from DW), Jonathan Jackson, and I suspect a variety of un-named financial support people seem to know what they are doing.
One of the great moments for a player is hearing the crowd singing their name (if they have a song already) or even creating a song for them.
Canned music kills that moment.
Hi John et al
Have posted the question on Latics’ Facebook page and got the reply
“Wigan Athletic Hi George, with it being cash turnstiles on the day, seating will be unreserved.”I have in the East Stand, John, but printed at home and have seat numbers on.
But like you I wonder if it’s unreserved.
Anyone got an East Stand ticket for today?
I think, mutty (and I am no expert in this I will admit) that the difference we have is that Dave Whelan converted a significant chunk of the debt into equity, rather than just a charge on the balance sheet.
By doing this the debt varies as the share price varies and if the club is in tight financial position (as we are – but that is different to being broke) then the share price drops and hence the amount the club “owes” is reduced. I am not sure even that this no longer becomes a “debt” as such, but just what he will get back for the club.
I know Wikipedia isn’t exactly the most authoratitive source but:
“Papua New Guinean rugby league has been hampered by the poor infrastructure in the country, and national competitions have proven difficult to sustain. Violence at large games has also become increasingly of a problem, and nations are reluctant to tour Papua New Guinea due to safety concerns. Nonetheless rugby league continues as a sport, and is played sporadically across the nation, with competitions in major cities and some rural regions alike.”
It IS the most popular sport there, I concede
The difference of course being that we are a big team coming to them.
They were a small team coming to us.
We’ll only use the West and East for a JPT game.
Who was the one with the mate with the big head? Now he did make me laugh.Junglejungle. I remember it now.

Why especially those?
Because they were created in the last couple of days. GL has already responded to one fake ID. The other (Terrythelurker) is on this thread:

As for the rest of your comment – I couldn’t give a flying fk what you think – I’m just trying to help a fella on here who has been wronged – even if he doesn’t like me.[/quote]
I don’t actually mind you, you know. I just disagree with what you say. Different things entirely. ;)
I have asked WEP for details of the relevant posters so I can institute libel action.
My good name is valuable to me. I will be pursuing the libellers.
