Disgraceful decision but was always on the cards.
The same Dave Whelan that rescued a club on the verge of going out of existence, built a fantastic new stadium, got us into the Premier League, oversaw an against all odds F A Cup win and after taking what he thought was expert advice left us in what he believed were “good hands”
Some folk just don’t appreciate exactly what he has done for us.Unless I’ve misheard the Administrator I was under the impression that the preferred bidder had until sometime this afternoon to return signed documentation committing to the purchase of our club.
So proud of our team tonight, gave everything despite being up against the EFL and tonight’s referee who should hang his head in shame, absolute disgrace.
Let’s hope our QC earns his money. My brain hurts…
Just when you think that you’ve seen it all the lads come up with a performance like that.
I was all set for a nervy nail biting ninety minutes and then that happens.
As a well known Sky Football Commentator says:-
“Unbelievable Jeff”
I think Cook should start Gelhardt on tuesday, Lowe has lost whatever confidence he had and maybe being on the bench would give him a bit of a wake up call. Looks like Naismith will be centre half unless Balogun’s fit.
The difference between us and Sheff. Wed. is that they may have knowingly broken the rules whereas we had no knowledge of what was about to hit us.
The EFL should clarify their position on this matter but as has been pointed out before they will probably give them a points deduction less than what would be needed to relegate them.
I’ve been a supporter of the Latics for 50 plus years and it’s been a rollercoaster of a ride to say the least, but just when you think you’ve seen it all this team comes up with something that leaves me in awe.
It would have been so easy for the manager and team to give up and look to move on but the attitude and commitment from them all is absolutely first class.
Even if it all goes pear shaped at least we as fans will know that Paul Cook and the boys and all the backroom staff have done everything in their power to keep us afloat.
We are Wigan.
BELIEVE!!!Here’s hoping the EFL will do the decent thing.
We’ve just got to keep believing and hope that all the hard work done by the supporters club, Lisa Nandy and many others behind the scenes is not in vain.
KEEP THE FAITH!!0-2 away win, Moore and Morsy the scorers.
I think the team will do us proud on Saturday and stick two fingers up to the EFL.
BELIEVE!The administrators have said that they are considering an appeal against a 12pt deduction?
They should be telling the EFL that they are going to pursue this all the way to the supreme court if necessary. The EFL must take their share of the blame in all this and to punish our club for their massive cock up is completely wrong.
Thought I may have felt a bit better after a night’s (restless) sleep but if anything I am more furious than ever.I think Whelan may bankroll us until the end of the season by which time hopefully we may have a buyer.
We are Wigan Athletic. We’ve defied the odds before and we will do so again no matter what the E.F.L. et al throw at us.
Have faith in Paul Cook and the team.
Up The tics. -
