If Southampton take all 3 points against City and it looks like they might I think it becomes a 3 from 4 scenario ! Next weeks game then becomes bigger than ever and if we get beat I am afraid that the large lady will begin to clear her throat !

Next weeks game then becomes bigger than ever and if we get beat I am afraid that the large lady will begin to clear her throat !Seem to remember a similar scenario a few years back when Blackpool had a great run around February. They started to get treated with massive respect and the form took a tumble and they were eventually relegated. Not saying this will happen to Southampton but stranger
Things have happened and the battle is no way over yet.10 February 2013 at 2:28 am #103087There’s always a team that have been out of danger all season gets dragged in on the last weekend.
Still a long long way to go yet.

Things have happened and the battle is no way over yet.[/quote]I think you will find that the battle is over with some of our less fanatical supporters one said he hopes we go down I really hope that was a spare of the moment hissy fit
10 February 2013 at 2:37 am #103091Still 13 in it until they get to 40 points
10 February 2013 at 3:16 am #103094why four ?any of bottom 11 still in relegation battle.
10 February 2013 at 4:04 am #103098It may look likely but in no way is relegation a certainty. We have players to come back and with the latest additions who knows?.I get fed up of hearing how great the Premier league is when we are fighting for our lives to stay there. It was set up to benefit the big clubs who wanted the biggest revenues and when the media bankrolls the big clubs(Utd especially) what chance do we really have to compete?.Gone are the days when football was about how good your team were. Now its a matter of how rich are your owners. The time we have spent in this league has been a fabulous achievement even if it has not been enjoyable.I cant speak for the rest of you on here but I really detest the old cliche “the prem is the only place to be” and “you get to see the top players week in week out”.To be honest im only interested in seeing Wigan Athletic hopefully winning.I dont give a flyer if I dont see Rooney,Van Persie,Gerrard and the rest im a Wigan fan so why should I want to?.If relegation happens it happens and ill probably enjoy it more next season if we start well.If football was all about being in the top flight then how many of us actually would have started supporting the club in the first place.
10 February 2013 at 5:31 am #103104Right i won’t piss about. For relegation purposes there is 7 teams in there Phil, No matter hoe much i agree with you. West Ham and West Brom will drop places, how many is any one’s guess.
I am banking on an away win next week because Reading are woeful. If we don’t, It is surely good night Vienna.
Time to stand up and be counted.
10 February 2013 at 12:53 pm #103107Spot on Nuneaton – having also followed AFC Wimbldeon over recent years, I’ve found that it doesn’t matter which division you’re in – if your team is winning and near top, the feeling is exactly the same whether you’re in the blue square prem or Barclays prem.
Regarding whether it’s 4, 7 or 13 – I actually prefer thinking about it as a 4 horse race for 17th as there are then much fewer variables for my poor brain to agonise over!
