It really IS a very interesting city. I definitely agree that the attitude of fans at the match is very different in Germany. Even on their travels they tend to be friendly. My mate’s a Liverpool fan and tells of when Bayer Leverkusen fans drove to Anfield and actually tapped a KEG in the back of their vehicle to share with their opposition fans! That’s pretty decent.
Glad you enjoyed the Hertha experience. If you consider as well that the flag waving and atmosphere from the home end, especially the Ostkurve (Kop) end, is like that most games and not just derby games, it shows how much better the atmosphere is.
