Stockport county relegated from the conference league it makes our problems look miniscule in comparison, still in the prem & FA cup final to look forward to
22 April 2013 at 2:38 pm #110513Terrible shame to see how such poor stewardship of a once successful club, not unlike our own, has led to such a sad demise.

had many enjoyable trips to games at edgeley park, hope they manage to sort themselves out
22 April 2013 at 3:28 pm #110525Not only Stockport but quite a few old rivals in the conferance these days like Wrexham ,Mansfield and what happened to Darlington

Darlington capitulated big style with financial problems think they might be playing in some minor northern league these days, god knows what happened to the Reynolds arena.
22 April 2013 at 3:47 pm #110528I think Darlington went the way as the new Wimbledon, start right at bottom of pyramid with a new name new ground etc. they’ll probably resurface in the conference in a few years.
22 April 2013 at 3:51 pm #110529remember newport county as well
22 April 2013 at 4:01 pm #110530as much as i cant stand whelan, he has helped this club no end and but for him we could be in stockports possition
but the one big dilemma we will face what happens after whelan ?
there has been no offers for the club no billionaires queuing to buy us
even though whelan has always stated he is open to offers that would safeguard the future of wigan athletic
there is a lack of any interested suiters22 April 2013 at 5:05 pm #110535as much as i cant stand whelan, he has helped this club no end and but for him we could be in stockports possition

If there are any billionaires looking to buy a Premier League club I’m sure Wigan Athletic doesn’t feature on anyone’s shortlist, or longlist for that matter.22 April 2013 at 6:14 pm #110550if you read it again thats what i was saying ;)

I think we don’t really know what DW has planned for us, when finally decides to throw in the towel. I just can’t believe he’s not got this in hand knowing how has planned for our rise through the leagues. Just would not surprise me if he already know into who’s hands the club will one day pass.
22 April 2013 at 8:42 pm #110577Duncan Sharp was such a sad loss obviously to his loved ones but also to the club,a real Wigan supporter who would have been an excellent successor .
