has anyone seen on the west brom forum the club allocated 40 free coaches to take fans to Southampton at weekend as a thank you for following them all season
hint to dave Whelan think of the fans more
as I have said before on this point I personally wouldnt go on a coach but I am sure a lot would

I prefer to not use coaches if possible, but I would definitely use it for free.
It’s good to see a club rewards it’s fans regardless. I doubt we would ever do that.
2 May 2013 at 5:38 pm #111868Maybe it’s a reward for their supporters travelling in large numbers all season. Let’s be honest, if we were to reward all our regular away travellers, one coach would be enough never mind 40.
Don’t you feel as supporters it is some reward to have season tickets miles cheaper than any other club?

I think Wigan’s town motto should be changed from “Ancient and Loyal” to “Summert for Nowt”

West Brom have 7,000 more season ticket holders than we have, and their season tickets are £100 more expensive on average.Or to reverse that, our season tickets are £100 cheaper than West Brom’s and we still sell 7,000 less than they do. But the club should put on free coaches?
2 May 2013 at 6:06 pm #111873ok so the club should never do anything at all for the fans apart from cheap season tickets I stand corrected by all the experts who post on here
2 May 2013 at 6:33 pm #111874Surely that means they do something for the fans for 19 games per season (maybe 23 next year), whereas WBA are only doing something for one game.

And no you can not snatch the pebble from my hand.
I will take your response as you do absolutely nothing for the club then!
2 May 2013 at 7:44 pm #111878the club owes me nothing dickhead the comment was made to all those hard up fans who cant afford one away game to watch wigan
I go on the train everywhere as I said but I am lucky enough to afford it many season ticket holders are not in that position the club could help them go and experience one away day per season

Whos being brave now
I cant afford many away games, got fook all to do with the travel and more to do with the cost of beer and tickets. Saying that to clarify I could if I wanted I just have had bigger priorities in recent times.
Not that I expect the club to cover the difference.

I heard a lad near me in queue for Final tickets actually come out and say “I’ve had a season ticket for 8 years now in the Premiership…they should give me a free ticket”. And he was serious.
Can you imagine how hard it was for me, a ST holder of 27 years, to remain calm? Really, really had to bite my lip.
I remember in the run up to the Carling Cup Final, they announced that 2000 tickets were being given FREE to fans picked out off the database. They put the list of people online, and whilst some did go to genuine long time fans, I sas some go to people who had been watching for about 3 years. That really DID piss me off no end, I have to admit. Still grates now. That said, the club were never going to keep everybody happy, unless they had gone through the club files and really worked out who the loyalist fans were. Never going to happen as too time consuming. I accept that.
Since I used to go in the family enclosure at Springfield as a kid, and they did the free raffle where a none playing player would come in at half-time and draw it out, and you would win stuff like a shirt, or a signed football, etc. Since those days, I’ve had nothing free off the club…..
…but then again, giving the club your money, is the definition for me of SUPPORTING them. This is why people who watch games in pubs rather than the stadium are fans, not supporters.
I’m travelling on a Supporters Club Coach. It’s £35 which is a fair price. I don’t know the costs of hiring a coach, but I wouldn’t think the supporters club are making much, if anything out of it. I hope they do make a small profit at least.
