An absolute no brainer if you ask me! I ‘m not often moved to write on here but please not Owen Coyle. I truly believe he would be an absolute disaster. Perhaps Whelan might fall for his super positive outlook. His transfer targets would be from Scottish Division 2 and his tactical knowledge would leave a lot to be desired.

Well Whelan fell for Martinez & his positive outlook, look were we are now :)
13 June 2013 at 12:39 am #115936McClaren
13 June 2013 at 1:10 am #115937McLaren it’s got to be. If it’s Coyle my season ticket is in peril
13 June 2013 at 1:14 am #115939Never heard of him. Quick edit.
13 June 2013 at 1:22 am #115941None of them muppets!
13 June 2013 at 2:37 am #115948Hmmmn a Dutch Cap or Coyle. Should be pretty safe with either.
13 June 2013 at 2:43 am #115949That made me laugh more than it should have
13 June 2013 at 3:55 am #115952Well in Coyle’s defense, unlike Martinez, ( Think Henriquez ) he took 2 young lads on loan and in my opinion helped them massively to develop by giving them much needed playing time. 2009-2010 season saw Jack Wilshere join Bolton on loan and the following season saw Daniel Sturridge join them on loan ! Also, Coyle is not a hoof ball merchant, if anything he likes his sides to actually play football. Ironically like Martinez, he didn’t really have the players to pull it off ! He has taken a side from the Championship to the Prem and so he has the knowhow and for me would be an ideal candidate ! Sometimes we make hasty decisions based on how our hearts feel but when you let your head take over and just sit back and think for a while, things do become more lucid ! Get him signed Uncle Dave !

I’d prefer Mclaren out of him and Coyle, but I’m still hoping for Rene Meulensteen.

Re Henriquez jibe, I just thought that at a time when we needed points he could have been utilised because the the other options were not really firing on all 4 cylinders ! Having Cleverley on loan clearly aided his development ( We will have to watch this space re Robles )and I hope that Utd will offer him to us again but this time with the promise of some match time and with Coyle’s previous help with the aforementioned duo it could just sway them ! The more I think about Coyle stepping up to the plate, the more I like the idea ! :)

The only thing that puts me off him is the criticism he gets from some of my Bolton supporting mates.
I’d still have him over Bruce.

I think he would have us playing decent flowing and attack minded football whereas McClaren can be quite defensive minded at times to the point of ennui ! :(
